GDT: NYR @ EDM - Sept 24th

  • Xenforo Cloud will be upgrading us to version 2.3.5 on March 3rd at 12 AM GMT. This version has increased stability and fixes several bugs. We expect downtime for the duration of the update. I actually agree with this. Richards/Nash combo just isn't going to work, IMO, it was a bust last season, and so far, it's looking like a bust this preseason. Those two need Stepan between 'em.

I agree man. Look Im not giving Kreider a pass at all, he nees to step it up and step it up tonight. However i dont think he has been as bad as people have said. I liked him in the devils game. last night he wasnt sharp but the same can be said for 90% of the team, also richards didnt do him any favors. Hopefully we see miller and him have good nights

I don't think Richards is the ideal center for Nash, but I do think that is what AV is going to go into the season with to start.... I think Kreider should be a lot more noticeable.... He's just kinda been more of the same. I saw someone use the word enigma the other day when referring to Kreider and I unfortunately I think its suiting him well... I know he is young, but when I look at the power/speed/shot that he has I can't help but feel completely underwhelmed when I see him in game... He just doesn't pass the 'eye' test.... Not sure if he'll ever really be a first-liner, but time will tell

Its only been 2 preseason agmes when most of the players arent that sharp. So far he has had one pretty good and one bad one. lets see what he does tonight away from richards

Yeah I'm definitely intrigued by tonights lineup... Really liked what I've seen from Brassard and Zucc together.. and I think Pouliot could be a perfect compliment for those 2.....

I know many people around here haven't been totally happy with what they've seen in preseason, but its amazing still to think that Callahan, Stepan and Hagelin haven't played yet, I haven't been this happy with the depth on this team in a while. I still think they could use a little size and a little bit more scoring skill on the left wing, but I'm ready to go to battle with the lineup come regular season

Needs to step it up tonight? Is it game 1 of the playoffs already?
 
I've been very disappointed by Kreider thus far. At this point in his development, he should be proving that he belongs. Instead, he is being given every opportunity and still looks behind Lindberg, Kristo, and Fast. If JT Miller was healthy, then he'd probably be surpassing Kreider as well...

needs a lot of timming and fine tuning?

we iced a rookie squad last night and a bunch of scrubs on d..

we have established our top 6 as of now..

Kreider/X-Richards-Nash
Beniot-Brassard-MZA

each are anchoring every other game so far..


I think Miller has a chance to make the squad, ppl are under valuing him or counting him out.. he can come under the radar.. dude played excellent last yr.. people forget he was 19.. mistakes will happen, but he wasnt lost out there.. i think for the role we're looking for, as a 3rd liner he would be perfect as a winger until we get hags and cally back.. hes bigger and physical compared to fast and kristo.. and he still has plenty of skill and more versatile, by playing wing or center..

Kreider im not worried about his potential bc hes still young but i am comparing him to cally, aa, hags and dubi.. all had close to 40+ pts in their first couple yrs.. this year to me is a measuring stick he has to hit that and close to 20gs.. or he needs a fire lit under his ass..

then we have..

MAC-G
Staal-MDZ
Moore-Stralman

battle is for 7th, which i see wide open right now..

I really wish McIrath was ready, rather then stralman..


we're playing at less then half staff, its preseason.. coach has to put players in roles to see how they can play..
 
I remember that stretch we had when loffen was trapped in an avalanche couldn't make GTDs and we were like 4-0-0.
