Just like me!He provided a lot of nothing with that comment.

At least he is unlike gortonIsn’t half of this list Drury acquisitions in the first place??? Cleaning his own toilet lol.
The difference between Parsinen and Kakko is that Parssinen LIKES to hit people.
Anyhow, here’s the 6’3 215 center who just turned 24 that we just added:
While this move, and all the others made to date, are important and needed to be done...there is an element of sadness about it. I feel as if an era of Ranger hockey has passed. And, it was a pretty good era. Yes, there is disappointment that we never went all the way, but we had some deep playoff runs, we were one of the better teams in the league, and many good and satisfying things happened. It was an era predicated on three factors: high-end players at the peak of their careers (Zib, CK, Panarin), the progress made by all the young players we drafted or acquired (Laffy, KK, Chytil, Fox, Lindgren, KAM, Schneider, etc) and strong goaltending. Now, those high end players are past their peak, the young players have not developed or have disappointed (to say I am not worried about Fox would be wrong), and even Shesty has been somewhat of an enigmna, Memory can be tricky, but HL was likely much more consistent than Shesty (as I said at least in memory). We never know what kind of stretch of games we are going to get from him. What is sad is that I just don't see, at least today, a way forward for this team again to be one of the league's elite teams. We have a few interesting young players (Culyle, Othmann, Berard) and one possible high-end player (Perrault), but I am skeptical of him also, he reminds me of Fox except as a forward. How will he hold up after a few years pounding? Otherwise our cupboard is bare. I've been a fan for 60+ years and have seen many such troughs as the next few years are likely going to be. As a long time fan, you learn to take your happiness where you can. Looking at this team, I just see mediocrity ahead, fighting each year to make the playoffs.. Yes, teams can and so turn around quickly and surprisingly, but others fall into that "mush middle." that may be our destination. This era is over and it was a good one and I will remember it fondly, even if we didn't bring home the ultimate prize. It does fill me with sadness that it is over.
i don't see this as a different era personally. i was just never a big lindgren or trouba guy. the era ended for me with buchnevich and fast departures. imo we're still in the middle of what this current iteration is.While this move, and all the others made to date, are important and needed to be done...there is an element of sadness about it. We all know Kakkos views on NYC...Parssinen needs to call him and make him say the thing
Look at that defense after only 9 months. It was,I haven't checked but I thought I saw someone say De Haan's numbers were OK for a 3rd pair sheltered guy, but currently doesn't look like they've called anyone up so with Fox out they'll still shift another player to RD and De Hann will be in?
Miller-Borgen
Jones-Schnieder
De Haan - Vaakanainen ?
Dunno actually what the pairings have been lately with injuries and things getting mixed around.

You are right. It is the end of an era just like the 2014 team. I'm not sad. I appreciate the good moments that came during this window. I still root for guys like Zooks and McD. I will still root for most our guys from this era as well. Sometimes change is needed. While this move, and all the others made to date, are important and needed to be done...there is an element of sadness about it. It is kind of exciting to move into uncharted territory. There is certainly much to look forward to, to think about, to argue about. It's just that my expectations are lower and that is hard to deal with after years of relative success. As much as I like JTM, and I always have, his age also is a concern to me and how he will perform as he moves on into his 30s.i don't see this as a different era personally. i was just never a big lindgren or trouba guy. the era ended for me with buchnevich and fast departures. imo we're still in the middle of what this current iteration is.
JTM is a 1C. Perreault is a high end prospect. whatever the carrot, whatever the stick, we have seen what Laf can do in a playoff series. Shesterkin can do some things in a series too.
I do like the moves Drury has made this year. Even solidifying the back end for Kakko. He's gotten pretty good value, added youth with some upside, and committed to a size approach that I think makes some sense with the right supplementation. an infusion of speed in the top 6 to go with the Rempe/Berard/Edstrom mobility in the bottom 6 would go a long way. God what id do to move panarin to LA for kempe. I know it's not gonna happen.. but that's the idea I have: aggressive speed/skill goalscoring wing, and a mobile puck moving LD for Fox.
in the next 2-3 years there is bottom 6 size and speed coming, and there are stalwart D coming.
Kakko lived a few blocks northwest of MSG on 10th ave. weird part of nyc you couldnt pay me to live thereIf Kakko and Parssinen are friends and he asks Kakko for advice on where to live, he’ll probably tell him another city where they let young guys play.
Is he though?brady's a good kid. shame about the preds LOL
Staten Island?I live in the building the Rangers put up their rookies and short term players. It’s fine but nothing to write home about. It’s not in Manhattan btw.
I do think GMs make an effort to find a better situation for guys like Parssinen.Yeah that's exactly it. They wanted some draft picks and evidently they also had liked Parssinen for some time.
de Haan will be gone in the summer and the Rangers may even flip him again at the TDL for another pick or player. If Parssinen fails to impress, they could walk away from him, too. There's no obligation for us beyond this season to either player.
This is the same general framework as the Trouba and Kakko deals: send out a player or players they didn't want anymore for picks and a player that the team felt might be undervalued and that they've been scouting for a while who could potentially be a piece for the future.

What did Crease ever do to you?Staten Island?
For sure. That is always a possibility. Although I do believe I read somewhere that like Borgen, the Rangers had been tracking Parssinen for a while and wanted him specifically. I could be making that up though, I've had a stressful couple days IRL, haha.I do think GMs make an effort to find a better situation for guys like Parssinen.
My only point being, it’s not necessarily Drury finding a potential gem. Just the Colorado and Rangers GMs appreciating their relative situations and making an appropriate move. Appreciate it’s a tiny nuance but think a reasonable suggestion.
