How much does Jimmy make?

I think I'd be on board with that.

Nash with 1.8 retained for Jimmy Hayes and Colin Miller and a decent pick.

So how about:

To Boston:

LW Rick Nash (1.8 Retained)

To New York:

RW Jimmy Hayes
RHD Colin Miller
2017 Edmonton Oilers 2nd Round (compensation for Chiarelli's rights).

Generally agree.
However, Nash is an upgrade on Chara
if an sizeable enough sweetener were throw in from Bs, I could see it.

Would have to be ample or Rangers gamble Nash rebounds, value, competitive bids upped

Are you implying the Bruins should trade Chara to NYR with a sizable added asset in exchange for Nash?!

I want to hate this but I don't. I also keep coming back to the fact that the Rangers have too many wings. Also putting both Hayes and Vesey together might get weird. If I was the Rangers I would think about it, but I would want the Rangers to add another wing and the Bruins to add an equivalent D. I don't think this is too far off though.

The Hayes move coincides with the Bruins needing the cap space to bring in Nash as well as his ability to jump right into the Rangers lineup.

Also, this solves the RHD problem for the Rangers in their second pairing.

I know some Bruins fans will also hate/love it with the question marks about giving up Miller paired with the contract of Nash but I see it as a pretty solid deal that helps out both teams.

I'm a Rangers fan. We offer Fast + 2nd for Carlo.

Probably wouldn't do Fast + NYR 1st for Carlo. Assuming the pick would be anywhere between 15-25 I would rather have Carlo at this point. He was a steal at 37 and he could contribute as early as next year, as opposed to a 2017 1st that wouldn't contribute until 2019-2020 at the earliest. Hes also a big shot RH defensive defenseman that I believe has unrealized offensive potential.

I wonder if there is something around Colin Miller and Jimmy Hayes for Nash retained that makes sense. Hayes joins his brother and Vesey on the third line, Miller drops into the second pairing in New York and Nash jumps into the vacant Eriksson spot. Salary retained.

No interest in Jimmy at all but I like where this is going.

Though wing doesn't seem to be that much of a need for Boston..

What else ?

Oh i totally get that, but the Rangers would be moving Nash because they have a surplus of W. Getting Hayes back for Nash give the Rangers the same problem; too many Ws. Which is why I am saying Rangers add another wing and Bruins add another D.

No go on our end. That's way to much salary coming back in from both players.

It is but do you have another salary to go back our way that might make it work? The Rangers really aren't looking for another winger in Hayes. Playing with his brother and Vesey may not happen even if this was a legit trade, I'd guess Buch. has that slot right now on the 3rd line. Didn't Jimmy Hayes sign a contract the end of last season for like 2.5 per for 3yrs or so?

This is actually a pretty damn good offer for both sides. Well done.

The only problem is that the Rangers have too many wings as is. If there was a comparable defender coming back instead of Jimmy, it would be even better from a practicality standpoint.

Still a great job though.

but we have absolutely no room for another winger.

I thought moving Nash out would create that space and move Buchnevich up to the top six. Forgive me if that is not the Rangers plan. The downgrade from Nash to Hayes would be offset by giving the minutes to Buchnevich and adding Miller to the second pairing.

Cheers!

Making it more complex would only happen if:

1. Boston acquires a RHD in a deal to replace and make one of McQuaid / Kevan Miller available to add instead of Hayes.

Part of that problem would be that the Bruins then would be moving two RHD out with Nash and ______ (Fowler or perhaps Shattenkirk) coming in.

Then again, I'd see the removal of Nash's contract as the green light for the Rangers to move in on Shattenkirk, wouldn't you?

This move takes on Hayes' contract this year and next, but allows the Rangers to go after Shattenkirk and drop Miller into the top four now.

Can nash play rw? Hed be awesome next to Krejci with backes on the other wing, and he'd make a nice line with spooner-pasta or rw with bergy and marchy.

Yes Nash plays well on either side

One Ranger fan here who likes that package for sure, well done on value and team need IMO

Eh, more just to move forward and shed older players. We're ridiculous on the wings and even without Nash we have very little room. I understand it's for salary purposes and all things considered I'd probably still do it.

Wings would be something like Kreider-X, Miller-Zucc, Vesey-Buch, but then any combination of Fast, Lindberg, Grabner, Gerbe, Jensen, and Hrivik. See what I mean? We have like 18 forwards competing this TC lol
