In all probability, dealing with a team your client wants to play for is a much different stance than dealing with the team your client is trying to get away from.Ut oh, Overhardt not gonna like that quote!
It's there for sure I listened on a two hour drive. We recorded 4.5 hours and I don't kwow what was cut or made it onto the final version but I think the Pionk thing is.
Doesn't make sense.
My son is a PA and worked there for 2 summers, he mention many times its a complete zoo, no management, no communication among peers, patients comes in doves. No enough staff personal for patients. Sorry for the negative view, I hope 1 day it get better. Not like that anymore, about a billion dollars in funds to upgrade that whole area since Sandy.
But yes, many years before that the whole area was neglected like most of the City's infrastructure outside of Manhattan.
Staal was 3 years older when he signed and his 6-year contract takes him to 34. A 7 year deal would take Trouba to 32.
As for the player specifically, there's always a risk that Trouba will have injuries that diminish him as a player like Staal did. But that risk literally exists for every player.
I would say he’s defense first, but his offensive ability is above average overall. Not in terms of passing/puck handling skills, but accurately reading the play, jumping in on the rush, and shot quality are all good to great. Can someone descript JT play ? Defense first? Moving D, PP specialize? Thanks
Judging by Gortons comments after the trade, it seems they have everything and more figured out with Trouba, additional moves and the rest of the D situation going into the season.
The confidence and assertiveness that Gorton and the rest of the front office has displayed lately is pretty damn incredible to me. They are putting in WORK and are getting **** DONE.
Win or lose you gotta be happy as a fan. Mainly because they have a PLAN and are executing it flawlessly right now. The years of Slats I felt there was very little foresight and planning and that became a big problem for the club at times.
Luckily they were able to get out of it with the amnesty buy-outs and AHL loopholes, but if not for that it could've been a disaster we may not have been able to climb out of for a lot longer.

In what parallel universe?DeAngelo is a stud. Much better player than Fox. I’m not sure why this kid other than attitude continues to be overlooked but give me 22 to 24 mins each of trouba and DeAngelo per game. I’ll Be thrilled.
All around good Dman. Solid defensively, but is prone to gaffes, but i don't expect Dmen to bat 1000 defensively, his gaffes are few and far between. Good offensively, notably at 5v5, i think his offensive is much better suited at 5v5 than on the PP. he's better contributing offense on the rush vs having to QB a PP - although he was productive on the Jets PP when Buff was out but it didnt look pretty to say the least. I think he could play with more physicality but might be more susceptible to injuries if he does so i can see why he doesn't. He's a solid top-pair option. Can someone descript JT play ? Nah, Gorton needs to be playing 4D chess here. One year bridge deal, trade him at the deadline for a first, sign him as a free agentDoesn't make sense.
Staal got hit with a double whammy as well. A puck to the eye and the severe concussion is a hell of combo to get up from without a noticeable impact.
Because he's good, 25 years old and probably will get better.Ask yourself this question... why are the rangers seeking to sign a $ 8m defenseman right now?
possibly the best summary, teams had to view Trouba as 1 yr if he didn't return is the bottom lineI totally get it from Winnipeg’s perspective. They couldn’t take back $$$, and they couldn’t keep their player. He would have never signed with them and it would have been nylander with no resolution. They HAD to move him before the draft and I’d guess this is probably as good as they’d get.
Rangers took advantage. The big question isn’t really value of the trade but whether you want a 10% of the cap locked up in Trouba vs another position. I bet a lot of teams were asking that when considering what to give up.
I really dont think gorton is done dealing. I think he wants to get back into the 1st round. Names, vesey, and krieder I believe will all be dealt one way or another.
2/3rd for vesey
Names whatever we can get
Krieder and something for a top 15 pick.
Free up another 13m in cap space. Have 23m available.
Sign trouba 7 years 7.5aav
Then sign a guy like Simmonds or Ennis that we can trade for next season for more draft capital .
Keep the rebuild moving
If nothing else pops up, I think Oil take our 2 2019 2nds + Howden + Buch for 8OA and 2020 2nd or similarI liked @RangerBoy suggestion of Shatty at 50% retained for Saad, whether he was serious or not.
Move out Buch, Vesey, Nams. Try to get into the mid 1st round with any of those three or a combination of them. Package would be centered around Buchnevich
thanks.don't insult bern...atleast bern's crazy posts are entertaining
Stop someone doesn’t like the truth about a declining NYC.My son is a PA and worked there for 2 summers, he mention many times its a complete zoo, no management, no communication among peers, patients comes in doves. No enough staff personal for patients. Sorry for the negative view, I hope 1 day it get better.
Another great thing about this deal is the timing of it. Its not on the draft floor so it give the Rangers some time to digest, get in contact (if they havent already) with Trouba's camp and begin negotiating (or possibly even sign him).
They can focus on other deals and opportunities at the draft
Dreger's comment would probably have been better said that there were just a handful specific teams where he would sign an extension. The Jets could have sent him anywhere as a rental and he couldn't have stopped them. Nice to be on that short list. even nicer to have him here. That makes a lot of sense logically.
