He couldn’t take it here, too much spotlightPastrnak just signed for $11.25, and is a superior player…so there’s that
As long as the 6 or 7 guys are the right guysExactly have 6 or 7 guys that have made it and 15 working their arse off to get there. The middle of the road guys can play somewhere else.

sounds great, until they dont produce in the play off and there is no mid tier to pick up the slack.
I think you'd better strap in for at least 4 more years of this core.
Too much Revenue sharing is the root of all evil. Teams can ice poor quality players, play in 5000 seat arenas, and try to out tank each other for the next one. If they had only their fan base to generate income from they wouldn’t do crap like that. I know it’s only regular season but fans don’t want to lose most of the games.Yeah the NHL does not have a level playing field. If you have a cap, make it so everything is equal.
Hungry players play just as well the 4 or 5 million dollar guy is just throwing money awaysounds great, until they dont produce in the play off and there is no mid tier to pick up the slack.
Is it not allowed?I'm not sure why you quoted my post.
Pastrnak just signed for $11.25, and is a superior player…so there’s thatThe reality is that we cannot accurately judge this deal until we see how other comparable players are paid this summer and beyond. This may very well be the first of many contracts like this, in which case it's better to get out ahead of it.
If Willy didn't want to sign in the summer what was he supposed to .Why bother, might as well bend over and cough because we know how everything ends for this organization.
Huberdeau and Kadri prepped Tre for us.

Dammit man nobody but nobody can ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever never never ner ever ever win a trade when trading a starfish player
Nonis/Shanny comboWasn’t it Burke that drafted him?
Maybe BB got rielly but I always thought he also got nylander, not sure
Do you think the Canes last year were devoid of talent?Yea, all this talent only to get shut down by Sergei Bobrovsky in the playoffs. Amazing.
Mathews will be 31 at the start of his next deal, it won’t be long 8 year deal. There has to be an upside for a player who keeps betting on himself. If Willy didn't want to sign in the summer what was he supposed to .
Trade him walk either way people would have been pissed
Wait until mathews resigns in 4 ys when the cap is 100 million $
This will look like a great deal.

Great to have 88 for 8 more years but that's an insane contract (more money and more NMC protection than Pastrnak)
How much did we get Nylander down from his ask? $5?
Overpaying our stars forces us to fill out our roster at the Goodwill (we picked Sammy who Washington tossed to the curb, Murray who paid us to take him) and hope they can turn into something. It has not and it will not work if you want to win the SC. If you are happy being entertained by highly skilled, super elite, regular season warriors, then it is a good day to be a Leaf$ fan.If Willy didn't want to sign in the summer what was he supposed to .

Meh merely the price of selflessness and loyalty.Man, Morgs must feel like a chump.
