Does it? Boychuk only has 1.25 mill in base salary. He has 2.75 mill in signing bonuses. I admit I haven't figured out how LTIR works, but I'm starting to "understand" this means the 1.25 mill is freed up so it can be used again, but that's hardly enough, not even to cover for what they are under. Because it's not the cap hit that's get freed up, is it? Or is it?

If he is LTIR the whole season, does the 2.75 mil gets freed up to be used on signing bonuses a second time? Or will the cap hit of 6 mill get freed up proportionally on the two ways on spending money? I'm seriously confused. What else is new.

this is not how LTIR works.
Salary doesn’t play into it. It’s only the cap hit.

The Isles will move Boychuk to LTIR and all will be covered

Boychuk's eye injury had caused optic nerve damage and a loss of peripheral vision. He spoke in his presser about the issue now being a quality of life issue for him and his young family.

He spent all off last season on LTIR,with his entire $6m caphit used to ease the team's cap crunch. He worked as a sort of unofficial coach with young players and even shadowed Lou. I am not sure if his future is coaching or the front office, but he is going to spend all of 2021-2022 on LTIR,with his entire $6m cap hit used to ease the team's cap crunch. The organization likes his leadership/ work with the youngsters.

If you go to cap friendly, you will see where they show $3.7m of his cap space had been used by the team for the upcoming season.

I just personally dont think its gonna happen. 15 is a good target, its doable and isles should be happy if they can muster it out of him

This is a realistic goal. He'll be playing on a non-traditional 3rd line that has the ability to score, centered by JGP with either Wahlstrom or Palmieri as a winger. He'll be on one of the PP's doing net-work.

I don't think any Isles fan is thinking he's going to be on a 30 goal pace the way he was two years ago. Also don't think he's fallen off to such an extent that 15 goals on a 100, 150 shots isn't doable.

No way ZP ever scores 15 in a season in this league unless he gets a spot in Avs 1st line.

He had 25 in 69 games two years ago and was on pace last year for 12 with his lowest shooting % ever in a "full" season.

I'm expecting +/- 15 goals while being stapled to the front of the net on the PP.
Parise was on pace for 13 goals and he had 0 PP goals.

All 7 of his goals were 5-on-5, his G/60 was 0.8 which is roughly what it’s been for years. He doesn’t shoot poorly 5v5 or erratically, he’s steady Eddie there, 8-9% every season.

Parise’s late stage “good years” have been when he’s shot really well on the PP, and the bad years have been when he hasn’t. The worst year of course, was last season, with 0% shooting % (on 15 shots with ~67 minutes).
But good seasons are like…
2019-20 67 GP 27.91% 12 PP goals
2018-19 73 GP 17.24% 10 PP goals

Then bad seasons…
2017-18 42 GP 8.33% 2 PP goals

Meh, we'll see. 10+ goals and 30+ points and I'm fine with it.

In addition to Parise, UFA Travis Zajac is also expected to re-sign a modest, short-term deal.

Potvin sees Parise as a valuable piece for Isles

I don't see either guy really having much of an impact really as they don't drive play anymore and will be another year older.

The piece they really need to replace is Nick Leddy.

Maybe Noah Dobson is ready to step up but I'm not a huge fan of his and I don't think that he is ready to be a top 4 contributor than Leddy was.

Zach confirmed it, that's the truest confirmation we'll get.

Is that how it works?

I just signed an amazing 3 year / 9 million dollar deal ($3 million AAV) with Arizona, even got my Yotes breezers and a cool ballcap. As a big Teppo Numminen fan this was the team I dreamed about playing for as a lad.

Can I see evidence that NHL teams were looking for your service?

Parise still wants to play. Teams are interested in Parise. From the start, rumors were both the Isles and Parise had interest in each other. Parise confirmed he signed with the Islanders.

You can choose not to believe the man.

Lol, it was a joke. Click and read the tweet in the OP. Really don't see why you're getting so worked up.

In fairness, a player confirming he's signed with a team would be more legitimate than some random person just saying it to troll his friends.

Parise has zero reason to say he's signed and then eventually be all, "LOL just kidding. Had you guys going for a minute there".
