Not saying don't try Parise on the pp, but if he is playing like much of last year you are not going to want him on the pp. Good to keep those options open.

Damn, I can't believe the lengths he's going to pretend to be an Islander. He's probably just making it up, Lou hasn't officially signed the contract so.

In fact after that interview LL is probably going to reverse the offer.

I know Wild fans can't help to diminish ZP, and justifiably so, he is on the decline. That said, I'm intrigued to see what he can do motivated, playing on the 3rd line with JGP and Wahlstrom or Palms. Him and JGP will be worker bee's, much like Casey Cizikas.

Lou might sanction a hit in Parise for these comments. Lol

Zach Parise discusses past with Wild, future with New York Islanders

Parise also confirms 100% that there was a deal in place at the deadline for him to come to the isles a few years ago. Parise waived to come to the isles at that time.
totally worked out for us, I believe the rumor at the time was Parise and Koivu for Ladd, Bellows picks. There was obviously more involved but Koivu didn't waive.

We then got JGP!

The expectations are also different. He’s not making $7.5 million a year. He’s a veteran on a 1 year deal coming in to an established playoff team to add some depth and be a piece to the puzzle.

A motivated Parise will be a good player, he was good in the playoffs last year and really every year for the wild, always stepped up his game. You guys will get more than your money worth and then some, age and sustained production might be a problem but he will show up in the playoffs. We just needed to part ways and get younger.

Yeah, Lou was probably on the phone the next minute making sure he'd be offered a deal with the Isles. In all probability it's been signed a long time ago but only now did Lou file it with the league

As a Rangers fan I gotta say the Isles look really good for this season. And with young guys like Dobson, Wahlstrom, and Raty in the near future they should be strong for the next several seasons as well.

I'm not a Wild fan, I've got no horse in this race, but I did see about four or five games Parise played last year and I was really kind of shocked by how bad he looked.

I'm a little surprised he got another chance without it being a PTO. He looked like Patrick Marleau looked in Pittsburgh, he just wasn't really effective at anything anymore and his shifts made me feel little sad remembering what a great player he was.

You have much higher expectations for Parise then I do. If he scores 10-12 goals and plays solid D, I will be satisfied.
Refer to below, wont be surprised with 40+ pts at all, if he gets good linemates and PP time, if.
He should be in the top 6 tbh, atleast the first fill in.
hes still good with the right linemates, wish him the best
