Admire Dubas doing everything he humanly can to try and extend his position as GM
He is trying to build s team that goes far in the playoffs. He could still walk at the end of the season regardless of any outcome. It is half upt to him.

Gotta love the Caps selling and re-tooling for the future while the Isles go all in ever though they’re in basically the same position.

Of the 7 teams fighting for 2 spots I believe Islanders are like 3rd while the caps are 6th/7th in terms of winning percentage.

Kind of funny in the other Leafs trade threads a big point was made of how impressive it was that Dubas didn't give anyone up off the roster when he traded with STL and CHI. Now that he IS trading pieces off the roster due to the cap problems from the earlier trades the Leafs fans are celebrating anyway.

I mean obviously yes. But you can't question the amount of work he has put into this deadline moving pieces back and forth.

Don't get this, Engvall seemed to have a solid role on the Leafs. There's such a thing as shaking your roster up too much and ending up with a dynamite on paper lineup getting lapped by a team with synergy in the playoffs while they're still getting to know each other and how to play together.

Not a big gap between any of the teams though. But for a 3rd this is a good deal.

Big boy, good speed, good reach to protect the puck. Doesn't throw his weight around. Can be easily knocked off stride.

He's trading away players we wanted traded away. Sandin got back a 1st.

Engvail is a pending UFA the Leafs are not re-signing.

Kerfoot is the same, fans want him moved but he hasn't been traded (yet).

Easy answer. He is SOFT. Like if you think the Leafs are soft, he looks soft compared to the rest of the team. Not someone you win with
