Celebrating after a Ranger win against a hated division rival no matter how meaningless in the standings? There is no need for that here. Negativity, despair, hysteria is more like it.
Yup... I'm sure those Pens fans really took the OT loss and subsequent hazing hard with their '91, '92, '09, '16 & '17 Stanley Cups (due to 1st overall draft picks BTW).

Oh and they're in the playoffs so last night wasn't the end of their season.

But yeah, negativity and despair because THAT is the NYR way

I don’t fault him, and more or less accept him for what he is.

There’s just that growing feeling in me that this is probably the peak, and through no fault of his own, I do wonder if the injuries or freak incidents will become a bigger concern as we move forward on a 5, 6, or 7 year deal.

Either way, my hope is the Rangers have a clear idea of what they are doing with Kreider.

If he’s staying, fine. But let’s get it done and remove the mystery. If they plan to move him, my desire would be to move him sooner rather than later. In Kreider’s case, I’m not sure there’s a huge difference between his return in June compared to February.

So if we’re going to move him, hopefully there is an opportunity to do it in a shorter timeframe.

If the Rangers are 100% sure to keep him then, yeah, let’s have a long term deal done this offseason. To your point, if they are not sure and the cost is about the same I’d wait until mid season, again to see how the prospects fare and how Kreider fits into the future core.

I get the general feeling that the Rangers are usually 99 percent sure they know whether a guy is part of the long term plan or not.

They knew this in 2018, and again this year, and I don’t think there’s much of anything that changes that mindset for them.

With that said, I’d be shocked if the Rangers don’t already know how they feel about Kreider. I don’t think there’s anything that is going to change their mind way or the other at this point.

Personally I think the risk is higher than the reward if they drag this.

99% sure = 100%, so as agreed they should get it done then.
