The rumors were with the Caps, but Barroway reportedly asked Shanahan, and someone threw Messier's name out there (but I think that was just as an investor).

Right now, all we can do is speculate but I think we would see Snow would get one last shot next season if the sale is completed.

Yep for sure, we will wait and see what happens when the announcement is made.
I think too, that Snow will have a legit shot to prove himself one year. In my opinion the whole Vanek fiasco was because Wang wouldn't let him retain salary in the other deals.

So many people are reporting that it will be announced after the Finals that I can't help but be excited. I've never wanted a season to end so fast, usually I'm depressed when a season ends. Anyway, I'm gonna stay on an even keel, even IF it's announced, I wonder how long the turnover would take. Is it immediate ? Does it take a couple of months ? Will Wang or Barroway be at the draft, which is less than 4 weeks away ? I'm not going to get too excited until a press conference is announced.

If Wang is going to sell the team I don't know why they don't announce it tomorrow or Tuesday. The first game of the finals is not till Wednesday so you have a 2 day break. I think the longer the Islanders have between now and July 1 to get the house straight the better it is for the team.

I think announcing it after the finals makes more sense from a promotional standpoint. Release that information now and it will be overshadowed by the finals. Release it after, it'll be news for a bit longer.

Agreed. If they're going to replace Snow it's going to either after the draft or in late July/early August.

If the rumors are true, I can see some decent moves in the offseason. New owners usually like to make a splash.
Here's what I hope for: sign niskanen(spelling?) a trade for a dman (phaneuf? Thought I heard Toronto was shopping him). Then a offensman signing, prob vanke or Callahan. Not sure how a feel about either of them, but they are the big FA this offseason, so there is the headline/splash.

That's a deep defense.

With vanek or cally in this scenario in the top 6, and halak and nabby/FA as goaltending, this is a competitive team.

Either way should be one of the most interesting offseasons we have had in 15 yrs

He had Philly lawyer way before anything was reported. Rose Tinted Visor is a well respected poster and claims to have an inside source. He has been around way to long to think now he is making things up.

RickyRed39 is in the know. He does not post here but I know him and know his sources. I don't post on Islandermania but have a connection to RickyRed39, just didn't know he was disclosing things over there.
What he says can be believed so far as past accuracy on this matter, and he knows things well before it gets out here.

Now that it is all coming out, and Ricky himself is disclosing his source (I only know the source first name) it should not matter what I disclose over here.

I can not verify it as I told Sal (Homeland Security) so i stopped posting anything directly, but with all the spot on hits, I have a hard time thinking that it is just smoke.

As much as I want to say the same thing can anybody blame him? This is quite possibly the best news we could get next to a Cup and as Isles fans hVe been let down multiple times. I tried not to get my hopes up but how can you not get kind of excited?

Thanks BillD, so you guys have the same source (RR39's cousin is also your friend). Makes sense, since you've both been fed info from the same guy and have basically both have said the same thing. Add in David Volek's inside source (Islander's employee), and it's going to make an interesting couple of weeks.
