Glad I'm not the only one that's been underwhelmed by TWD this season. Huge suspense with the Wolves attacking and the huge horde of walkers approaching Alexandria and then nothing really happened. More huge suspense with the wall coming down and then nothing really happened.

Lost was the most frustrating show in my opinion because they originally stated they had the show's outline plotted from beginning to end. When you watched Lost you quickly realized they did not have it planned out what so ever. It was a quagmire of stupidity which I stuck with to see a payoff which never came to fruition.

TWD is a much better show even with the sometimes uneven storytelling.
Yeah twd is better, if for no reason then it can still fall back to solid entertainment, where lost was trying to be some deep story.

But when I think back to Lost, all I really remember is mediocre episodes with big cliff hanger endings to bring you back to the next mediocre episode with a big cliff hanger ending.

TWD has been some of that this season. Keep ending episodes with the promise of some big moment, keeps being fairly mundane.

True

I do think this half season could have been handled a little better though.

Making this half season into "Rick Grimes Worst day ever" was probably the wrong way of going about it.

One of the problems with TWD is they use the Stephen King method of story telling. They enthrall the viewer with a compelling story then hit a cliff hanger and then start a new story that needs to build momentum to get to that same end point, then they either jump back into a new story or back to the other one that was left dangling. (That's some run on sentence, huh?)

This type of TV is hard for the viewer when you have to wait a week between episodes. At least with Netflix you can power watch through this type of story telling. Waiting a month to resolve the Glenn story was ponderous to say the least.

Spot on.

Also knowing the story, I think they could have handled a few things better.

The subject of brass knuckles being illegal before has come up. I think this is a loophole
but officer, it is a meat pounder

That would be badass in the zombie apocalypse though

Flames fan here in peace, shared this on the Flames board and had to share it here.

So Robyn Regehr is an awesome guy.

He's been a minority partner in a business my dad has been the lawyer for for many years and my dad has passed along my cheers for him since I was a kid. Regehr has always been sure to send along signed pictures or pucks from time to time to me, even when he moved onto Buffalo and LA. Today was the first time he's been into the office since he retired and he brought me an autographed Kings Jerseys with his name on the back.

Made me tear up a bit.

We miss him.

Yeah. Thanks Robyn! Always had respect for you as a Flame, but you know, loved you as King. May your new career bring you success and happiness because you deserve it. :)

Here's a Walking Dead question...Why was Carol all shakey. She's a killer, and killed a lot. Based on the way she had been portrayed up until that point, she would have stabbed him to death long before it got to that point.

Because she had a concussion. She also knows that Morgan is skilled with his large rod.

Carol slipping on a bullet and getting a concussion was absolutely stupid. This is a woman who has spent years running through heavily wooded areas being chased by all types of bad things and she slips on a bullet on a sidewalk? GTFO.

Please stay OFF TOPIC.

True enough.

I just finished TWD Season 5...and reading the comments, not looking forward to season 6. Just when season 5 ended so damn good - season 5 in general I thought was really good. Rick is a straight up savage nowadays and I'm loving it. Carl...Carl can just disappear and never come back. I've never liked him.

Season 6 is like my sex life. High expectations. Great start. Then try and stretch it out in to something substantial.

In season 6 Carl shows his hardened roots with some sick ass street fighting.

Carl also showed his feminine side when he took that casserole out of the oven.

Sure wish he could have put in one more year with us. Guy carried a hell of a forecheck. I'm sure opposing players didn't like to see no. 44 anywhere close to them.

And she knows it hurts to get slapped in the face with it.

Mine is like Season 2. All talk, no action.

My pleasure.

Sounds like he's enjoying retirement. His injuries were starting to get injuries lol.

Spoiler tag time

[spoil]
(from my memory at least) They have introduced Negan's group earlier in the TV show than the comics. I think they met Jesus and went to hilltop before actually encountering them in the comics.

I could see Lucille's victim being Darryl. Negan's group was introduced. I could see Sasha, Abraham, and Darryl opening up on the group on motorcycles and Negan retaliating before they get back to Alexandria[/spoil]

[spoil]...and this is why I ***** about them not killing Glenn.... Lol. Darryl's character has a huge fan base, no way he is getting killed. At least for now, all main characters are immortal... Maybe not Carol, they have made her likeable, but ruthless enough that I could she her die/with out too much audience objection[/spoil]
Never knew we had spoiler tags....
