You want to bring in a former defenseman to coach our defense? Bring in Pronger, Niedermeyer, Lidstrom, Stevens ... not a career power play specialist. Hell, bring in Marc Staal or Dan Girardi. They were excellent during their primes.

Mancini looked like he belonged today, and man he has some really nice tools to work with. I actually think he has more upside than Schneider at least offensively. And even defensively he struggles with coverage but in terms of closing on guys, separating them from the puck he’s intriguing.

You have to trade Fox because the team is going to assume he's first 3 years of his career magician Fox when he's lost a half step and is in late stage Larry Murphy mode.

They're gonna keep assuming he's gonna pull something out of his ass, he won't because he can't, and they're gonna lose. You're not breaking them of the mentality that Fox is God.

Reset on him before that NMC kicks in. I'm serious. The rest is whatever, this is structural.

Or just find him a capable partner so he's not skating all over the D zone trying to cover for the ghost of Lindgren

I'm torn on this. I'd like to see him with an NHL partner before you consider moving him, but it's not a stretch to think his best days are behind him.

I’ve kind of turned the Lindgren situation into a positive by just being amused by it.

They do this with Panarin constantly. Defer and assume he's gonna pull some bullshit out of his ass.

It's 100% so they don'thave to skate and do normal hockey work. It's a crutch so they can be lazy. If they were gonna not do it, they wouldn't be doing it for 5+ years at this point.

People target Mika and he has earned it, but fox is just as representative of the issues of this team.
