Let’s see now, I predicted:

- I said it would be 7-2 Leaf’s, ended 7-3 Leaf’s so I was damn close.

- Leafs blow out I said, I was right.

- I said the Jets would be tired after back to back games and they were they were slow after 20 mins.

- I warned people about Jets having to play their back up and yup he wasn’t good (not blaming him for the loss but he wasn’t good).

- Lowry was Lowry behind the bench he did nothing to help.

I was right on all points and only off by one goal in the score.

Yup, he was my clear favorite the first 5 or so years he played. The last few have been rough with this one really souring me on him. Even when Morrissey was struggling you at least saw fairly consistent effort even if the execution was off. With Mark its like he just doesn't care at all, something is off. I don't know if he wants out or is unhappy with his contract/place on the team, or if there might be a mental disorder but something is clearly impacting him.
Please look at his play for close to 4 years now-I am not sure why we are noticing his poor play now-this has been occurring for a long time. Maurice created a monster

Nice work, you’re a regular Kreskin.

He was still good in 2019 from what I remember, can't recall much of him in 2020.

Sheif…starting 3.5 years ago was NEVER held accountable for his play. Kindly review my posts for the last 3 years!
I didn't know there was going to be a test , his play overall was overlooked because he put up points and people hoped that he would become an all around player, that's never going to happen and it actually looks like his D play has regressed. Anyways it's to bad he could of been something real special in this city

We get it, it’s been noticed and mentioned by many people. His poor play has always been masked by his ability to outscore his defensive play. Maurice may have created him, but Scheifele is perpetuating it.

Lots of talent there though. I’m torn between letting another coach try to turn his play around and moving him to get a healthy return. However poor he is defensively, it’s a big void offensively for the Jets to fill. Can’t keep going this way though for sure.

His underlying metrics were evidently declining as reflected by the eye test in 2019
Yep, he’s been underwater from an xg% and other key metrics perspective since 2018-19. Which shouldn’t surprise anyone. Sadly, despite that the Jets would have been horrific without him. That’s how bad the Maurice era was between 18-19 to 20-21.

Given how bad things got with this team under him it might not be a quick fix to get these players back playing good cohesive hockey. Whoever they choose as a coach has their work cut out for them.

Rough game from a lot of them, expected on the back to back. Leafs are a pretty good team but the Jets made it pretty easy on them. The quick start for the Jets made the score seem closer until the empty netter.

Scheifele doesn't care anymore. He had a nice pass on the play to Stastny early in the 2nd and he was unfairly blamed for the first Leafs goal I felt but he was really disengaged.

Real tough call for management. I guess it depends on what Chevy can get. But if he is traded and a good C isn't coming back that puts a lot of pressure on Perfetti to turn into a play driving playmaking center.

Have to say the captain has been skating hard going to the net and being involved, still has had a few grenade moments but no complaints about him lately

He looks a lot better where he is playing second fiddle to a play driving player. He still works hard and has enough skill to play the facilitator role. I think it is likely that he sets up shop as the complimentary guy with Dubois and Conner moving forward. They can drive the play and he can muck and facilitate.

We need to come up with a functioning second line.
