Probably the best D in this draft tbh

Is John Carlson a decent comp?

Heiskanen

What a steal. Had him #3, Buium #4.

Ridiculous first round for SJ.

I see more Pietrangelo. Solid all around game. Great puck management.

Best D in the draft, ranked number 3. Comparisons to Hanafin, Pietro, Heiskanen, and Carlson. God, could we do with one of those guys. Love these quotes!

Would have loved to pick up Emery, Badinka, or Elick to have a quality RHD prospect in the 2nd, but Chernyshov was much higher on my list so glad we picked him.

Aside from goal (which SJ hasn't gotten right for 25 years), the team's only prospect weakness is RHD. With 3 top 35 picks next year (pre-deadline trades), like to think we'll come away with two.

Pure stud. I have seen a ton of him over the past two years. He is a surefire NHLer. Pietro is the best comparable.

I had him as the second best player in the draft after Celebrini. According to my list, you guys got #1 and #2.

Shocked he dropped to #11

The kid will be a solid player.

Also, did London do sombrero night?
Long History of throwing a sombrero at Knights games.

Heres an article that explains it.

youll find Patrick Kane, Mitch, Cowan and numerous others who have donned the mexican headwear.

This guy is putting up some impressive numbers as a Dman, 30 points in 17 games
I love Celebrini but I think Dickinson might turn out to be the best value pick in the first round when it's all said and done.

At the time of the draft I thought he was the player who had the most games at a better than average level of any player in the draft as he is going to be a very good top 4 Dman for a very long time and as soon as next season.

Had Dickinson at #3 on my list, was pretty vocal about it.

And I'm not at all surprised that Dickinson's shown elevated offensive instincts this year.

Last year he was clearly focusing more on honing his D-zone play and polishing his fundamentals whereas this year I feel that Dickinson's started asserting himself a little bit more offensively. I've also noticed that he's making decisions slightly faster in the offensive zone, extending plays a little bit more to try and get those A-grade chances, similarly holding the line a bit more aggressively.

Overall, I just really like the small changes to Dickinson's game and the improvements he's shown. He is tracking to be an amazing defenseman for San Jose if he continues developing.

And even in the unlikely event that Dickinson's development stalls, and he fails to really grow past what he's already shown, his "floor" as a prospect is so high that at this point he's basically what I consider a "can't miss prospect", a true blue-chipper.

And even months later I'm still incredulous that Dickinsion fell to the 11th spot in the draft.

Scott Wheeler was saying he’s trading defense for offense this season.
He was in the first half dozen games of the season. Rough watch. But he's locked in the last ten games, 22 points and very good defensively. I think he's still got room for improvement there, because I believe he has the potential to be extremely good defensively, but he certainly hasn't been bad outside of those first few rough games.

The main difference I've seen from last season is much better decisions on breakouts, a little more playmaking creativity, and an increased willingness to use his size advantage to rub guys out along the boards.
