“I do think this is probably going to be a good little reset for us, a good little learning moment,” said Battalion coach Ryan Oulahen. Really ??

Curse of the Centurion Jersey again!

I'm thinking they traded the wrong goaltender. The future doesn't look great in that department as i'm sure Dom (along with Nelson), will not be here next season.
Also, in the Templeton days, Bert would never trade a player within his own division, especially a goaltender as it will always come back to haunt you (as it did last night).
Another problem I saw was they never started the game with any energy. Possibly celebration Saturday night taking over 1st place.
I agree with Jerseys, take them out in the back field and burn them.

Are we getting dollar value out of our trade deadline deals?? Other than Vilmanis, I think not. Also, if you can't match the energy and hustle of Therrien, you shouldn't be getting ice time!!

Vilmanis and the twins improved the team, a lot; and, some of the picks will be returned when the twins are traded. Ride is 2.5 season investment. I think the Battalion had one of the better deadlines.

I think Dennis can be trusted with making the right goaltending decisions.

I think Dennis might be wrong in this case.

He might be proved wrong if DiVincentiis goes down.
But Robertson does deserve an opportunity to earn a starter’s role before graduating. Dennis and Oulahen obviously believe the younger McIvor is the team’s next starter.

Edit: And the oppurtunity to bring in a high upside D like Ride to learn from Nelson, Christopolous, Mathurin, and Leblanc was just too good to pass up imo.

The only deadline rental you're getting any sort of value back is Bronson Ride, if he turns into anything worthwhile. The LeBlanc kids will both be OAs and judging by the number of teams they've played for thus far, the market may be quite thin. The market for OAs is generally pretty weak to begin with.

It remains to be seen how much this team has improved because we're only gauging success by the number of playoff home games we've added. Hopefully to the final.

The returns on OAs for NB may depend on which the team decides to go into the season with. I think there will be plenty of interest pre-season for VanSteensel-Wakely, and Mathurin. The team can then rotate Cooke and McDowell in with the twins until the trade deadline.

It's possible that two of the three you mentioned turn pro assuming the team has a pretty respectable playoff run. I'm not really concerned about which OAs they run with in a rebuild year. But most teams generally have OAs with tenure that they're pretty happy with. Thus the market is quite weak.

The OA market this season was as saturated as I can recall, yet there were 30 trades involving OAs.

A Leblanc has 3 + 3 for 6 points in 6 games. Not to mention the timeliness of a couple of his goals, in fairness he has been better overall this far than Vilmanis has been.

We need to play EP and JT more to develop them for the future here. EP is a first round pick and JT is putting up more points then most of the first rounders that year. If you look at the other top players in the 22 draft their playing big minutes. You only have 4 years in this league and the 2nd year is almost done. EP is on the radar but because of JTs size he's over looked. The way JT plays, I don't think he fits into the coaches plans and is utilized effectively. With his speed and offence we need to put him in those situations.
Our team is always based on seniority which hurts us in games and effects our future. We've had plenty of kids leave over the last few years because of not getting opportunity. We only have AR and WK from the 21 draft and got rid CK from the 23 draft. We need to keep these two or we're going to be dismal for the next five years.

Well said, Mr Therrien.
Regardless, the kid is a great player will will be heavily counted on next season and beyond. Let’s not forget that the current OHL points leader was in a similar, if not worse situation last season while spending most nights on the 4th line. Therrien’s time will come.

J. Vondras and DDV have the nets. SBY’s Walton and Villeneuve, who were in Moncton last night, are in. E-Pro21, also in Moncton, and who might have been injured, is not. McDowell is the replacement, 11F, 7D.

Northern and division rival with both teams in the conference hunt might motivate just over 3000 people to attend.
