Another win being carried by our team MVP. Can you imagine where this team loaded with superstars would be without the stellar play of Dom. I’m guessing middle of the pack in the East. It’s a shame the lack of respect it seems he gets from around the league. 46 save shutout but the top story on the OHL site is the Flint goalie. Mind boggling really.

You are 100% correct. Nice to get the road win and we had a lot of other scoring chances but to give up 46 shots is not a recipe for success! When did having a Dman chase a player to the blue line and hope a fwd will cover for you become the norm. Stan would be convulsing to see that...lol

Agree completely with your assessment of DDV31, he is without question the team MVP and a difference maker. However, he allowed 0 on 46 shots vs 195 goals 5th place 62 points MIS, and FLT’s goalie allowed 1 on 42 shots vs 277 goals 2nd place 82 points WSR. So, while we would prefer Dom to receive the accolades, I can understand the headline.

"Shoutout to Ranjan Rupal, a pharmacist and extremely good OHL announcer. Him and Gary always keeping things flowing."

With the team’s 2nd consecutive shutout today, I presumed it would be the first time in franchise history for such a historic event. It turns out this is the 2nd time in NB (didn’t explore the Brampton years). And how soon we (okay, I) forget, turns out it was just last season Nov. 14 & 18, 2021.

In other shutout trivia, in ’14-’15 the team recorded 7 blanks: Jake Smith 4; Evan Cormier 2; Jake Kment 1. In Jan., ’19 SBY shut out NB twice in 8 days by a score of 12-0, then the Troops blanked KGN a couple of days later, 3 of 5 games involved a shutout.

And finally, not shutout related but from the other end of the spectrum, in the last place season of ’19-’20, some early scores were indicators of what would lie ahead. In the first 4 weeks or so, Battalion gave up 11 twice, 9 twice and 8 once. Yikes. The result of all this, however, was Ty Nelson, D-Wake, and Dom DV among others.

From the team's website game recap: "Apart from the ailing Josh Bloom, the Battalion scratched Tnias Mathurin, Brayden Turley, Justin Ertel and Brett Bouchard". Who knows what "ailing" means?

Re: Josh Bloom

I just had another look at the NB/MIS game telecast. When Josh was heading up ice for the empty netter a ‘sauga player slashed him across the hands. The referee immediately raised his arm, then let the incident go when the puck went in the net. Skating to the bench, JB was carrying his stick in his left hand only. Hopefully this won’t be a repeat of the Justin Ertel situation.

Always funny seeing visiting players response to fans taunting by telling them they paid to watch them play. Stay humble but in other news if you’re grown man don’t start taunting kids. What are we doing here

I know you all know in this thread, but Matvey Petrov is absolutely amazing. It has to be said. One of my favourite OHL players no questions asked

Tough way from Dom to loose the shutout. Definitely earned it
Conversely, it was nice to see the Attack rookie Antonio Tersigni score the first of his career.
Hes been working hard and had a goal called back last week that would have been #1.
Then to top it off, they awarded tonight's goal to another player, so he didn't get his first goal celly .

One moment for the Attack to celebrate tonight .

From the game summary on the team's website:

The Battalion, which dressed 11 forwards and seven defencemen, scratched Tnias Mathurin, Brayden Turley, Justin Ertel, Brett Bouchard and Pasquale Zito, who was sick.
