We were all over McDavid too last night, worried about the 'Cron

Chicken on pizza is a giant faux pas.

I’m certain they got it at the very start in 2019. I’m remember a “ flu bug” made the rounds. Krieder being out.
2020? There was a god awful flu in early '20 that people (including me) mistook for Covid. It wasn't it.

I don't follow the logic. Kakko did nothing wrong but got moved to the Zib line. Kakko is playing to his role, getting up to 20 mins a night, and now he needs to be demoted to the 3rd line - for following Gallant's instructions?
I mean he's a good complementary piece to either of our top-2 lines right now. Defensively responsible, battling for the puck etc. But that's not what he was drafted for...

That was really such a huge win heading into a very long road trip to California. Vegas is a challenge but they wont have Patches this time around. After that, its 4 teams the Rangers should be able to bank points against. 4-1 road trip here could give us a huge cushion
That's being very optimistic. I'm not rooting against them,... it is just very tough to win out there. And to boot, all four are winning teams with winning home records. It's like every game from now on, is a bigger test than the game before.

I dont disagree, but if we cant be optimistic now, when can we?

This = Truth .

Seems clear to me that's what the vets want him and Laf to do, and the coaches want them to be complete players. Kakko is being shaped into a Kreider style player, while the vets run the show.

Kakko & Laf will have their day eventually, but it's not their team yet.

It's not about demoting Kakko as much as it is finding lines that work up and down the lineup. And Kakko hasn't played poorly with Zibanejad and Kreider, but he has not played particularly well either. He has 1 point in his past 5 games when Zibanejad and Kreider each have 7 in the same span.

I believe that he was very close to unlocking his offensive game in the past, but I don't know if he will do it riding shotgun and deferring to veteran players.

He was just toying with McDavid last night.

Honestly, I am not sure if there is any other player in this league that I would trade K'Andre for besides said McDavid (but Hedman included). I would never do like Miller for Makar (albeit that takes into account that we already have Fox on the right side and as an offensive QB).
I’ve seen it suggested a few times that Miller could end up getting moved for a center. And I fully admit I could have backed that before this season. But now that he’s showing the ability to lug the puck effectively - on top of elite defensive tools - I really wouldn’t consider moving Miller at all. He and Fox should eventually be eating up 25 mins together nightly.

Sorry I thought the sarcasm was dripping off my post. Anyway, who am I to judge. Enjoy.
Lol the Mika special part was no joke! It sounds gross but it's awesome. Had it first at Mission Chinese before it closed (if anyone from the area knows the place, they know). Been doing it for years.

If I’m remembering it right, Ola was VERY high on Miller in his draft year. Higher on him than most.

I know we shouldn’t mess with what’s working, but I think I’m ready to see Miller-Fox / Lindgren-Trouba for a few games.
How about Jones-Trouba and Lindgren-Lundkvist?

Yeah, I'd be hesitant to break up the top 2 pairs as well as they're playing, but I'd like to see them try switching up the pairs to have both Jones and Lundkvist in the lineup. Think they're both already clearly better than Nemeth, Hajek, and Tinordi, and will only get better. However, probably can't get paired together, so would try:

Miller-Fox
Jones-Trouba
Lindgren-Lundkvist

3 pretty balanced pairs that should be able to matchup ok against any line (and would put Lindgren with Trouba on the PK)
This is what I’m thinking too. Though realistically it won’t happen till next year. But I think it’s a very elegant structure.

You could be worse off. In my eyes he's a solid GM and he cares about the team more than just seeing it as a business. Those kind of GMs are rare.
Yeah @OldCraig71 i totally agree. Gorton’s strength is player evaluation. He makes good personnel decisions. As good as any GM we’ve had in a long time. His weaknesses are more with undervaluing some of the “softer” metrics like team chemistry. But he appears to be smart and I think that includes learning from mistakes. And applying those learnings going forward.
TL;DR: I think he’ll be very good for the Habs

Yes he did. No mention of the Rooney brain fart on the pk that forced Geo to make the save on McD. Rooney because he pots a few goals is overrated on this Board. I want to see Barron with Hunt and Reaves, and Reaves scratched against teams where we can go without his presence. Reeves is responsible for much of the time his line spends in the D zone; too slow with poor puck skills.
Agree on Rooney. He’s a perfect 13F but doesn’t need to be a lineup staple.

Chytil also has a good shot. He may be destined for the wing where life is simpler.
I think he’s ok defensively as a center, which is critical. But on offense he’s not the line driver that you want traditionally. If he were playing center with a line driving winger, like Panarin or even (eventually) Kakko, it could work.
