Dallas signing Mark Sanchez must mean that Romo's latest injury is pretty serious.

Bravo Bruce Miller. Bravo.

Just saw the news. What are the rules in terms of no longer wanting to be a fan? From the various arrests, to the poorly thought out Levi's stadium and everything that happened to the team on the field, it's hard to really like this team anymore. It's sad to because this was the team I grew up watching and I enjoyed the Steve Young years from the start of his rise to power to his unfortunate end. Also really enjoyed the Harbaugh years. Now, is there anything to say I'm proud to be a 49ers fan?

Pretty much all the headcases are gone. There is a lt of difference in this roster compared to 2 years ago.

But the two biggest are still there (Balke and York). I think of this team really wants to turn around it needs to start at the top.

That's exactly the problem and why it's hard to feel too excited about anything with this team.

Pretty much everything York has touched for the past 4-5 years has been bad. Chip Kelly is the only person I have any faith in amongst the 49ers' "brain trust".

Levi's is a solid venue, but nothing like what it should've been given the pricetag and what fans were promised. Parking and traffic are marginally better than Candlestick, but not anywhere near the improvement fans were expecting or lead to believe. Just take a look at the renderings for the Rams' new stadium in LA and you'll pretty quickly realize that Levi's is something of a dud amongst new NFL stadiums.

The team itself is a joke right now, though trending in the right direction assuming the rebuild continues. But even if the team is able to add some young talent and retain Kelly, is the franchise really in good shape? Winning pretty much cures all problems in sports, but its difficult to imagine York giving Kelly the power necessary for a head coach to successfully run a team. That and Baalke's abysmal drafting record.

The 49ers are going nowhere as long as the Yorks run things. They have a pathological need to be the ones being given the lion's share of any credit for successes, and always disappear or toss out scapegoats any time there's blame to assign. They play political games to the expense of the on-field product, are cheap as hell (see: Elder York *****ing about supplying bottled water to employees and players), and are, in just about every way, as bad or worse than Don Stirling or Chris Cohan ever were. (with the exception of not being virulently racist, like Stirling was)

I still think they used Harbaugh as a bait and switch tactic. They knew they didn't like the guy from early on, but his success is what got the local backing necessary to get their stadium project approved. As soon as they got their stadium, they did everything they could to set Harbaugh up to fail, and spent an entire year undermining him in both the locker room and the local media, with an organized whisper campaign of leaks, "anonymous source" commentary, and behind-the-scenes undermining by quisling coaches like Tomsula. They couldn't wait to be rid of Harbaugh, so they could make their most devoted bootlicker and yes-man Tomsula to the head coaching spot, while they patted themselves on the back about how brilliant they were and how amazingly well their plan "worked".

Oh, and the stadium they built is a joke. Half of the stadium being in such bright sun, with no shade, to the point where people get heat stroke just sitting in their seats? A stadium that has huge openings on one side, so it's impossible to get any sort of crowd noise advantage? Oooh, the building with all the seats has a roof with grass on it. I guess that makes up for everything else they ****ed up. :help:

At this point, I am seriously hoping for the oft-rumored STH revolt, where people walk away from their PSL payments en masse. That would cost the team tens of millions of dollars, and is about the only thing I can think of that might really get them to sell, if the fans make it clear that nothing will placate them and get them to return to spending that money on the team other than the Yorks selling to someone actually even halfway competent to run a NFL franchise. Preferably, they should sell it back to Eddie D, but anyone with more than 3 or 4 functioning brain cells would be an improvement.

Wow. THIS.

I agree with every single word.

The most successful franchises are the one's with good owners. You don't even necessarily need to be smart, but you need to be willing and able to delegate appropriately. Jed has failed miserably at that. Just look at the best organizations in the NFL over the last 10 years: New England, Baltimore, Pittsburgh, Seattle, Denver, New York Giants, Green Bay (although they're a bit of a different case with ownership). What do those organizations have in common? Owners who don't demand they have control over every little aspect and who don't act like 5 year olds when things don't go their way.

And yes, as I noted earlier as well, Levi's is not the stadium it could've/should've been.

The 49ers have killed my enjoyment of football. There's literally not a single thing that I can look forward to on this team. I can't even stand looking at anything football related since it just keeps making me think about the terrible franchise they have become. Terrible stadium, terrible front office, terrible roster, just disgusting from the top to bottom. I'll take the Chris Cohan Warriors over this piece of crap.

Holy hyperbole.

This team will be fun to watch.

It's not hyperbole though. Like I've said before, I have been a fan of the team since I saw The Catch happen live on TV. (Before that, I considered myself a Rams fan, since I was born in LA) I have been a fan through the glory years, the terrible years, and up until last season, basically. That's nearly 35 years of fandom, at least on my part.

Yet now I have almost no interest in football whatsoever. I haven't followed any news at all, really, other than laughing at the Kaepernick saga going back months before the recent brouhaha. (I had to go look it up when I saw the earlier posts about Bruce Miller, as I just don't click into the NFL section on ESPN any more). I also haven't watched a single preseason game, didn't know when training camp started, and I have no plans to watch the team going forward, either. The Yorks and their actions have killed 35 years of my love for the team, and rendered football something I'm really not that interested in any more. I don't want to be "that guy" and switch allegiances, I want to be a fan of the 49ers. But this s***-show these incompetent baboons are running isn't the 49ers. I am not sure what or who they are, but they sure as **** aren't the real 49ers, even if they do wear their logo.

Until the Yorks are gone, and the real 49ers return, my interest in the team is basically zero, other than the anticipated schadenfreude at watching Jeddy boy squirm when the team goes like 2-14, and laughing when he kicks Baalke out as his latest fall guy/scapegoat.

Holy hyperbole.

This team will be fun to watch.

:laugh: Oh god, you're one of those fans who doesn't think it's ok to disagree with your team aren't you?

What about this team will be fun to watch?

Will watching Gabbert/Kaep/Ponder throw the ball around the field be fun? Will watching Hyde/Draughn/Davis run through our average at best O-line be fun? Will watching McDonald/Smith/Patton drop balls and run pour routes be fun to see?

Will watching Bowman make 120 tackles again be fun? Will seeing our thin secondary get exploited be fun?

If there is anything to look forward to this season it's the development of Armstead and Buckner on the D-line as well as Kelly's effect on the team.

Seriously, man. Please point me to an area of this team that is above average by NFL standards. Show me a single position that might actually be fun to watch. I hope we suck for the sake of drafting Deshaun Watson. But if we don't, what's this team's ceiling? 5-11? 6-10? Wow, wouldn't that be FUN to watch

Look, if you want to argue that this team won't be one of the 3 worst teams in football this season, that's fine. I think there is a chance they will squeeze out 5 or 6 wins sadly and miss out on a franchise altering QB. But to say this team will be "fun to watch" is pathetic. Your standard of football must be incompetent or you're a part of the York family.

Apparently you know nothing about Chip Kelly. He's the first real offensively creative head coach they've had in a couple of decades. He will utilize the running backs, young wr's and te's in ways that will be entertaining and effective. And, yes, i'm excited to see what Gabbert can do with a coordinator and a hc that want to throw the ball and score, not just dump off on 3rd down to keep the score close.

Sorry i'd rather actually watch the team play football and not fret over the ownership and things i can't control, like the sky falling.

Also, the fact you call this version of the offensive line average just shows how little you actually follow the team. They upgraded 3 positions and have Trent Brown waiting in the wings.

I have repeatedly stated, over and over that the only trust-worthy or talented member of this team's "brain trust" is Chip Kelly. In fact in a post about 3 spots above this one I state he is one of the only things worth looking forward to with this team. I fully expect him to mix things up on offense and do almost everything entirely different than Tomsula did. He's a great hire.

Does that mean it'll be fun to watch what he can do with 3 backup QBs throwing to Torrey Smith and some garbage? Of course not! Will it be fun to see Hyde get injured by week 6 and proceed to watch Shaun Draughn take carries? Nope.

And yes, this is at best an average offensive line. Last season's unit was a downright joke so improving in only 3 areas isn't anything to be proud of. They'll give up fewer QB hits and sacks than last season but only because: A) they set the bar so low last season and B) Kelly's style of offense. If there is any O-lineman "waiting in the wings" that I'm looking forward to seeing it's Josh Garnett.

I think we can all agree we'd rather just watch the team play than fret over ownership. But I'm not going to blindly pretend like all is well with this failing organization. I lose no sleep over the Niners' incompetence. But I do find it frustrating that my NFL team is being run into the ground.

Pointing out these flaws doesn't mean I hate the team. It just means I expect better of them and at this point that's not saying much.

IF, and it's a big if, York keeps Kelly for more than a few years and allows him to have full autonomy of the team's drafting, player personnel and locker room than I think this team will be fun to watch as soon as next season. But this season? Not at all.

Well I like football and i plan to enjoy the product. Players will improve in this system and it will be fun to watch them grow.

And improving 60% of the starting offensive line is very significant. Garnett and Brown will also be needed for the uptempo offense.

Fair enough. I don't think this team has any exciting young talent beyond a handful of D-linemen, Garnett, and Hyde (when healthy). Bowman is the only elite player at his position on this team. Hence why I very much hope for a bottom 3 finish to give us a chance at Watson, who at least in my opinion has very real potential at being a franchise QB.

Espn said it, it must be so!

My mindset is that this is a rebuilding year. I have no expectations of the playoffs, so I will enjoy watching the youth and system grow.
