2025 salary & option for about $17 mill for Deebo is not guaranteed. But, all of the restructuring SF did will cost them when they cut him. He's a $31 mill Dead cap if they move off him. $9.6 mill left in SB and $16 mill from his 2024 salary restructure along with $5.4 in option bonus left to hit.
That's all been paid, so even if SF traded Deebo, they are eating that $31 mill.

So, when SF did those restructures in 23 and 24, fans got excited, but all SF did was push the cap charges into future years.
The one good thing about the NFL cap is that you can always restructure things to re-jigger things while in the NBA and NHL you have limited options as to what you can do after the contract has been signed (thank Gene Washington for being the worst player union rep in the history of sports for that), but sometimes you just have to eat your mistakes.

If they do a straight cut Post June designation, I believe, it's a $10.75 mill then $20 mill of dead money for 25 then 26 years.

Plus, per over the cap, it shows SF at $50 mill of cap space. So, they can use this for 2025. Odd that they converted most of Deebo's base this season into a bonus when they had that much cap space.

Niners likely to suspend Campbell rather than cut him to f*** him out of his signing bonus and prevent him from signing with another team

Let me be the first to say: LMAO
Suspension will cost him $200k or 1/6 of his $1.21 mill base. Don’t think they can go after the SB.

Damn, I totally was not expecting this I always assumed he was one of those superhumans that would be out and about deep into their 90s... The definition of a bay area icon that gave us all many iconic momemts

RIP Rickey Henderson

Rickey is a legend, I’d say the best ever Oakland Athletic, and a great ambassador for Oakland and the game of baseball.

He’s why 24 is my favorite number. I’ll miss seeing him around the Coliseum, and several communities will miss the impact his presence brought.

The most selfless guy to speak in the third person. Thank you Rickey.

The team is gassed and comically injured...a byproduct of multiple back-to-back seasons of deep playoff runs. This offseason will be all about healing and resting up + adding OL/DL via higher draft picks. We'll see how next year goes...this seems like a 2020 situation with all the injuries.

Hard for me to get excited about the Niners (although I will always watch every game) until the Shanahan/Lynch braintrust is gone:

  • Shanahan is a terrible head coach. Can't manage clock to save his life.
  • Shanahan is a great drawer-up of plays, but sub-par playcaller, especially with the lead late in games. The problems we saw in both Super Bowls under Shanny now surfaced during the regular season. Blowing leads against NFC West teams this year was/is inexcusable. Niners shouldn't have lost a division game this season.
  • Shanahan always gets outcoached by top tier coaches. Andy Reid has made him his b**ch. Never forget that this past SB, the players commented that they didn't even know the playoff OT rules. You had 2 weeks to prepare for a freaking Super Bowl, and you never educated the players on playoff OT rules?
  • Recall that Lynch was hired AFTER Shanahan. Shanahan doesn't answer to Lynch, it's the other way around. That's not a healthy GM-Coach relationship. Lynch is just Shanahan's puppet. Recall that Shanahan has final say on every draft pick.
  • There were two unforgiveable top end draft pick mistakes that we could all see were mistakes at the time:
  • 1.) Shanahan's first draft they had cut Kap, and only had Hoyer under contract. Both Lynch and Shanny were blown away by Mahomes workouts, but Shanahan didn't want to draft a QB in the first round because they were going to trade for Cousins next offseason. WTF?! How do you make decisions based on the idea that you are going to trade for someone 12 months from now? It takes two teams to tango, and you don't know if the other team is going to make an agreeable trade with you ONE YEAR FROM NOW. Dumb dumb dumb dumb dumb. Mahomes probably isn't Mahomes if the Niners draft him, but hell, at least we'd be spared the Chiefs dynasty we are still suffering through. I went to law school in KC and Chiefs fans have always been insufferable, but it was okay when they couldn't win a playoff game. Now it's insane. Thanks Shanahan for your idiocy, you gifted us smug Chiefs fans.
  • 2.) Trading up in 2021 draft and drafting Trey Lance. I'm a Trey Lance Stan, but it was obvious, even then, that the trade up to make sure they got him made no sense because even us Lance stans (I was a Lance stan for a few years BEFORE the draft) knew Lance was a project QB, and the Niners were going to have no patience for a project QB while in the middle of a Super Bowl contention window.
  • Remember that we pretty much knew that Shanahan would be HC during the 28-3 SB with the Falcons. Horrible way to kick off his tenure (I remember telling my friends "This guy is going to be our coach? Ugh!") and he continues to be utter shit in the big game.
I appreciate that it probably takes another 1-2 losing seasons to see these guys get canned, but for me, it's hard to get excited until they are gone because either we're going to be meddling, or, they'll put together what looks like a special year and then Shanahan gets pwned in the NFC Title game or SB.

My dad, to whom Niners are his #1 team (for me Niners are #2 behind the Sharks) is in his 80's and wants to see Niners get SB #6, but not only have the past two Niner SB's broke him, I don't think the Niners will actually win one before he passes, which really saddens me.

I'm just as annoyed as the next guy at how the Niners season went. However, it will be "reap what you sow" if you fire Lynch-Shanahan. There are not many better candidates, if any; even available right now.

You could argue they look brilliant taking Purdy even after Lance. The McCaffrey trade was highway robbery and almost brought them a SB. Shanahan loses his way to close out games especially in big moments at times.

It feels like there always has to be a scapegoat for every lackluster game or season. The only common theme, I believe, are the injuries. I want to believe it's large in part due to constant deep playoff runs (Let's not forget Shanahan gets us to the NFCCG every time we make the playoffs). However, it's not an excuse to have one injury deprived season every other year after 1 deep playoff run. It doesn't really make sense with me as well as an issue with depth.

Outside of injuries, management HAS to see the O-Line has literal dog shit wrapped in more dog shit. I don't want to see an edge, RB, or WR drafted in the first 3 rounds. This team has a myriad of issues but at its core, they are still contenders and I expect as much next season. If next season ends how this year's did, then seats begin to warm up.
