In case you missed it, yesterday, two different players in two different games let go of the football before crossing the end zone plane, turning an easy TD into a touchback.

It didn’t cost the Bengals, as they were up big in their game and won big. It definitely cost the Colts in their game.

I’m honestly not sure how you don’t see that one time and decide your whole thing as a football player is to hand the ball to the ref when you score.

I would live in such perpetual fear of that ever happening that handing the ball to the ref would become my whole brand.

That or when you're on a play where you literally ONLY have to not give up the ball to win, and then you only hold it with one arm allowing it to be stripped free

There really is no rhyme or reason behind it either. Does dropping the ball the second you enter the end zone make you look cooler? Is it a mental game? “How close can I drop the ball to the plane and have it count.” Is it arrogance or showboating? Because spiking the ball in the end zone is a classic and doesn’t risk losing the TD entirely.

Unfortunately the average NFL player is pretty damn stupid and got pushed through school due to their athletic ability not their intelligence.

Hence UNCs fake class scandal (that of course got swept under the rug...because UNC). Same goes with basketball. I had an Econ 101 class at NC State with one of our basketball players (can't remember who offhand), he literally only showed up the first day (had earbuds in the whole time) and somehow "passed" the class

You say "of course it got swept under the rug...because UNC" and then go on to give a similar example at NC State, and BLB gave one from ECU. They all do it.
