Look, here's the thing: women (and men too) who get abused think they're alone, and that's exactly what abusers count on. Part of what makes sexual abuse such a mindf*** is that the victims almost always convince themselves that they did something to cause the thing that happened. And they they talk themselves into believing that shit isn't that a big deal, when it is a seriously big deal and is f***ing them up. They frequently continue to associate with their abusers because they feel like they have no practical choice. They have no idea whether it's happening to someone else, and mostly they don't care, because they want to put it into a box and not f***ing think about it.
And then someone comes out and says "this guy is an abusive asshole" and the penny drops for these women, and that's when they tell their stories, which all happen to be eerily similar because the abusers always pull the same tricks over and over. Sure, the money matters too, but it's really about women who are pissed off that they fell for some asshole and his bullshit, and they want him to face some consequences. It's why you see the same pattern over and over when powerful men are abusers, and they get away with it for *years*. Until Me Too, they would mostly get away with it forever.
Deshaun Watson is a gaping asshole and a serial sexual abuser of women. The former is my opinion; the latter is a matter of judicial record. One of the many reasons I don't follow the NFL closely anymore is that it's full of psychopaths who get paid if they can win, no matter what other heinous shit they pull. I know that's also true in life, but I'll be goddamned if I'm gonna pay money to cheer for these kinds of motherf***ers.
I hope his f***ing arm falls off.
