new topic, AV's unveil new scoreboard. when do we get one? http://www.nhl.com/ice/news.htm?id=677709&navid=nhl:topheads

i don't know if you've been paying attention to the news but in the half-assed way i do I could have sworn the debt-forgiveness package the Wild benefited from this last legislative session means that the Wild don't have to pay the city--instead all those payments go into upgrading the X. i would assume a new scoreboard is in the works. maybe with a corporate sponsor?

Man Kovy ****ed them hard and with out mercy. Dude demanded to get paid, ends up getting paid, costs them a 1st rounder then bolts when they need him the most. Yup, he boned them up and down the aisle.

I know most people don't give a ****, but i feel for the Devils fans, yeah i know the HF ones are *******s, but majority of them I feel for, now Snookie is the most talented thing they have...

Looks like Parise can roam the streets of New Jersey now without a bodyguard. You know it must be bad when one Devils' fan takes back calling Parise a traitor and then gives that title to Kovie.

Its funny how a good number think they'll get the pick back

I'm scared to death that the league will feel bad for them and give it back along with some BS excuse. I wanna see them get the 1st overall pick, then not be able to select anyone. It will be a great day.

Also, I'm curious what Ovi has to say on the matter.

They can't get it back. The contract that they were penalized for has nothing to do with Kovy's retirement. The penalized contract was voided immediately by the league.

They were penalized because they were warned that contract was going to be rejected and the Devil's tried to push it through anyway.

Looks like it's been confirmed...

As a result, the Devils do not have a first-round pick in the 2014 entry draft and they have no hope of getting the pick back.

“One (issue) is not related to the other,” Daly said of the league’s punishment and Kovalchuk’s retirement.

Not really wishing this on Devils fans, but I just realized that it is possible for New Jersey to end up getting the 1st overall pick only to forfeit it. Just the idea of any team having to forfeit the top pick is ridiculous but it could actually happen this year.

I don't think the league would let it happen. I think if NJ ends up in the lottery, they just wouldn't be allowed to participate considering they are forfeiting the pick. Why do that to NJ and the league by even having the possiblity of that happening?
The pick is gone, so just remove them from the lottery process

NJ will have no balls in the lottery.

They asked for it when they held on to the 29th pick a couple years ago.

I still can't believe they kept it. Between that, and the Kovy pursuit not only costing them a lottery pick this year, but Parise, Clarkson Oduya, another 1st and 2nd when they traded for him. A total disaster, yes Lou is a legend in Newark, but he could not possibly make worse decisions the past half decade then he has, and look now what it has cost them.

I'm not sad for Devils fans one bit, all the Kovy is better then Parise anyway crap they spewed when they got so butthurt over him leaving has now come full circle to bite them in the butt. Deservedly so, as for Kovy, i'm with JR, what a coward. Go sulk in the KHL, he is and always was a determent to the team.
