My dad finally gave up on the mariners a few years back, telling me that they wouldn’t win anything until he died.

Anyhow, he passed away in March of 2021.

It seems only one team has their number… Houston. Let’s hope they miss each other in the playoffs somehow… I realize how Unlikely that is. Very good team though. Finally.
It looks like they probably take WC1 or WC2 which puts them in the same bracket as Houston but if they won the wildcard series, it would basically be playing with house money at that point

Once the wild card teams are set, I wonder if the teams will jockey for positioning. WC1 has value for being home games, WC3 will play against AL Central champ who may have a worse record and would avoid Houston. WC2 has the least appeal

I had a dream the M’s made it but were swept in The first round. My dreams are never right.

The sight of B Wagz in that...uniform makes me want to vomit all over my screen.

Can't argue that we let go at the right time, though.

Any different than Sherm in SF red, Earl in Raven purple, KJ in raiders black? Reality of the business.

Sherm in SF was tough too.
Earl not so much, he was leaving regardless and went to the other conference at least as opposed to a division rival that I can't stand.

I am shocked by the amount of boos. During the game it was expected.

Just figured it would be light applause like at an opera or something. And that the boos would be from a few thousand loud people.

Not surprised.

He wanted out. He made that pretty clear. And then, he also commented about not needing to carry the team on his shoulders alone.

I am a Packers fan who has always felt that Hawks needed to get Wilson more offensive line help. However, he had solid receivers in Metcalf and Lockett. Plus a well coached D on the other side. Plus there weere a few interviews with his former Seahawks teammates saying that Wilson wanted little to do with the teammates outside of the field.

Russ didn’t have the same alpha Male personality as the big names. Which is fine. Lynch goes back to his Oakland community and hands out food in the local soup kitchen, Russ visits sick kids on their off day on Tuesday.

Sherman brought this up on his podcast post game saying that if that is Brady, Manning, Brees, etc. you think they just walk off to the sidelines and not even talk to the coach or better yet they’d just take the TO earlier themselves. Year 11 for Russ and he’s still deferring to his HC.

No video tribute either. Guessing Pete really wanted this game and didn’t want any of the fans to go soft on Russ at the beginning and thus bleed into the game. Hostile right from the get go.

Wilson will get his tribute but can't be yesterday. The wounds are too fresh. When he's back in 8 years or inducted to the Ring of Honor it will come. The video tributes also usually happen in hockey or baseball; dont recall seeing one for football. I do not recall anything when Lynch or Sherman came back the 1st time on the opposing team.

Had a feeling the hawks would win that. I still don't think they'll be great this year but if they beat the 49ers they have a decent chance of going 4-0 given the next two are the Lions and Falcons. After that though the schedule gets pretty brutal.

Was really impressed with the two tackles.

Excited to see Ken Walker at RB this week.

Not surprised.

While the o-line has been bad at times, I think Wilson has on occasions made it look worse than it was by holding on to the ball for too long looking for the deep pass or not stepping up in the pocket. Players like Duane Brown definitely felt that he threw them under the bus at times to the media.

With the 17th game matrix Seattle is scheduled to play the AFC West either in 2023 or 2024. So, their placement in the standings this season or next would determine whether they do play each other again before their next scheduled matchup in Denver in 2026. If they play in 2023, it would be in Denver. If it is in 2024, the game would be in Seattle, but only if they are the same seed the prior season.

NFC West's AFC matchups & 17th games:
2021 - AFC South (div) & AFC North (@pit)
2022 - AFC West (div) & AFC East (vNYJ)
2023 - AFC North (div) & AFC South (@ #)
2024 - AFC East (div) & AFC West (v #)

So yeah it is 25% possible Wilson & Broncos will be in Seattle in 2024.

Not sure on the rotation as of 2025 since it'd be the same divisions/matchups at home & away with the division pairs. I'd honestly like to see the 17th game as a International or neutral game for all teams, and I'd even keep it between the same geographic divisions - so NFC west #4 vs AFC west #4. Then the West teams would play international/netural games in a) Mexico b) Western Canada c) Salt Lake/San Diego/St Louis/Oregon d) London

So, it's their placement next season that will determine whether Russ returns to Seattle in 2024 or whether he has to wait until 2030 to return, if he's even still playing at that time.

NFL wants to maximize revenue. so, it has to be somewhere that has a stadium to accommodate. That's why the neutral site games are selected where they are. Western Canada, BC Place is down to 50K for the Lions, Edm can still do like 60K for the Elks. That's it.

Hawks came back down to reality vs SF. I thought they had a shot to sneak this one out with Lance at QB but once he went down and with their run game having success make it easier for Jimmy to hit his receivers off play action.

Difference between the shanahan run game vs the Carroll run game. More dynamic and creative.

Yeah. The M's sure shat the bed this weekend. Geez. I'm starting to have doubts. Good thing the O's have been pretty bad as of late.
Too many injuries at the one time as well. Geno getting hurt especially but then Julio is out, Haniger, Moore. They need to get a W soon or i'll start to panic. Angels usually play the Mariners tough as well.
