Just because something is legal, doesn't mean it can't be dirty. Targeting knees when launching yourself into a tackle is dirty as it gets.
NHL fans freak out about a leg getting stuck out to contact a knee... imagine leaving your feet to full on go as a projectile into another player's knee. That's what Kirby Joseph does.
Nailed it. Stafford said the same thing in real time:

His receivers have not been helping him out. A lot of drops.

That and he holds on to the ball way too long. Beyond that, they really need to get a coach in there who can properly groom Williams. He has alot of raw talent, but needs to right tutoring to properly develop as a QB.

I don't think he can read defenses either.

It might not be that he can't, but that he hasn't really had to until now. NFL franchises and fans are way too quick to pronounce judgements on young quarterbacks. Some qbs just need more time to develop. Aikman said it last night, but it's true, he was 0-11 in his first NFL season. I remember there were some questions if he was a bust. Thank god for Aikman, the Cowboys didn't panic.

I don't disagree. I just see the raw tools but not the head to be successful. Just personal take, obviously.

HC/OC matter. Bears, Commanders, Patriots all had Defensive minded HC and all took a QB in the top 3. So, the QB coaching fell on the OC. Waldron, Kliff, and Van Pelt. Kliff and Daniels overall working well. Maye is getting better. Waldron was fired and Brown brought in. He's struggling now. Nix has an offensive minded HC in Payton, McCarthy has one in O'Connell. Penix, Morris more known for Defense but has coached on both sides of the ball. ATL OC is Zac Robinson a former QB and came out of the Rams coaching tree. See what he does with Penix who now is getting the start.

Raiders and Giants currently hold the top 2 picks in the draft. Neither Ward nor Sanders are considered elite QBs. If LV returns Pierce, they need way better than Getsy/Turner who served as OC. Giants, if the move off Dabboll, need to factor in who would work with the QB if they draft one.

13-2 aint bad for a team vegas had at 6 wins.
Great defensive coaching by Flores and KOC doing a great job with Darnold.

Nfl, for a lot of teams, you just never know. Kind of why you don’t want to deal a future first away. Never know with injuries or just great play by someone you don’t expect it from.

Plus that dead cap left from Cousins as well.

I had assumed all year that we traded our 1st next year for our second 1st round pick last year. Turns out it was just the 2nd.

Go get that Boise RB.

If hes available in the later rounds. I expect us to trade back this year and gain extra picks using our FRP.

I dont think people know how many holes were going to have on our defense next year.

Shaq Griffin, Stephon Gilmore, Cam Bynum and Byron Murphy all are FAs after this year. Harrison Smith might retire. Josh Metellus and Jalen Redmond need a new deals. Jerry Tillery, Jonathan Bullard, Pat Jones and Jihad Ward are also all FAs after this year. And thats also not mentioning Aaron Jones as well. We could alos use an upgrade in the IOL.

This is why i still dont think we keep Darnold. Weve got a lot of holes and using half our projected cap space on a QB doesnt seem ideal.

One thing I noticed early in Sunday's game:

The Vikes had 4th and 4 in what you could call "no man's land". I think they were on something like Seattle's 42 yard line, so it would either be a long field goal in not-so-great weather or a punt that could very well result in a touchback, only getting them 22 yards of field position.

They chose to go for it, and ran a play that possibly could've been called for offensive PI; I don't think it was, but it did have some sort of pick element to it. The result was Hockenson was wide open for something like 12 yards or so. 1st down.

I thought it was pretty genius since the basically the only 2 options for the outcome of that play were that either Hockenson would be wide open for a 1st down, or that we would've been called for PI, moved back 10 yards, and then the punt would've been a no brainer and positive aspects of a punt would increase.

It's probably something that other coaches do to, but I just thought it was a pretty great coaching/play calling decision.

I'm showing us as the 6th most cap space in 2025.

I'm very curious about Darnold. NYG and Vegas are probably going to draft QBs. Does he really want to go play in the disasters that are New Orleans and Tennessee? I get the generational wealth thing, but man, I'd have to say that him taking less to stay here wouldn't surprise me in the least.

Last time i checked we will have around 80ish million in cap space this offseason and if we tag Darnold that will be 41m towards him alone.

I dunno either. It comes down to what Darnold values more. His one time big pay day or taking less to stay in a dang near perfect situation

I personally believe in KOC and McCown enough to develop the QB position and think they will do something similar with JJ.

Enter camp with DJ, JJ, and maybe another vet liker Brissett and make JJ earn it. If we do roll with JJ i honestly am fine if we regress next year so long as we see improvement with JJ because he is the future.

I would LOVE it if we went out and got Trey Smith this offseason and tagging Darnold or keeping him all together would hinder that.

Here's a hypothetical:

Right now the top 4 in the draft is:
1. NYG
2. Cleveland
3. Jacksonville
4. Las Vegas

I know we technically have to make the Darnold decision before the draft, but whatever. Let's say everybody knows that the Giants and Browns are going Sanders/Ward in some order and Vegas offers the #4 pick for JJ (Brady is a minority owner now; Michigan connection) and we know that we can get Darnold back for (let's say) 4 or 5 x $35-$40 million. Is this a yes or no?

Would i keep Darnold for 4 or 5 years at 35-40 million? Sorry im a little confused.

Maybe if theres an out after a year or two so JJ can eventually start.

To me it comes down to me completely trusting KOC when it comes down to the QB position and fully expect him to be able to develop JJ into a competent QB.

EDIT: Or are you asking me if Vegas offered 4OA for JJ would i trade him away and keep Darnold at that price?
