It's Sunday don't ask had questions like that.

This is the ChatGPT reply to your question:

I understand the frustration of sports fans when their team faces a losing streak or struggles in the postseason. However, it's important to remember that sports outcomes are determined by many factors, including team performance, strategy, and luck. Sacrificing anything or anyone in a ritual is not a solution and is not a practice that should be encouraged or pursued.

Instead, fans can support their team by showing positivity, offering encouragement, and being there to celebrate victories and offer support during challenging times. Remember, sports are meant to be enjoyed, and sometimes the outcome is beyond our control. Stay passionate, and continue to cheer for your team!
If ChatGPT were real and standing in front of me right now, I'd kick it in the balls for a shitzy answer.

ChatGPT basically just neener. neener, neerer you:

well, if I am right, the packers are a year or two ahead of the Vikes in terms of a rebuild. It’s hard to say who Love is at this point, but he’s a hell of a lot better than anything the Vikes have going forward. Ironically, the one area that I like with MN is the O line, which was a perennial weak spot in previous years. If they can pick up a good QB in the draft then he’d be stepping into something good with a nice receiver core and a good O line.
Ok, so I might've gotten carried away in the preseason. They are back to being a unit that gets beaten on a regular basis.

And with that said i dont think Ed Ingram is THAT bad. I forget which way the stat goes but he grades out extremely well at run blocking but piss poor at pass blocking or vice versa i cant remember. Getting a competent center would help out tremendously with that aspect too im sure probably the 2nd most important position on the OL besides the LT.

Tackles were set at with Darrisaw and Oneill.

Bradshaw, who I believe had been performing pretty well recently, has been hurt this year. We’re on our back C, which doesn’t help

I don’t think you guys are bad enough to have a worse record than Chicago, but I wonder if the hope is to get a QB in the top 15 of the draft. Williams, Maye, Sanders, etc. Someone to replace Kirk. Then use rounds 2-7 on linemen and defense.

Bradbury? Yeah hes been out with a back injury and i dont think this is his first with that same injury either, i could be wrong about that one.

Would having Bradbury in help with the OL? Yes absolutely and it will be good to get him back no doubt but he isnt Jason Kelce or Creed Humphrey out there. In the grand scheme of things id say hes average to a below average center who was only extended for a short time.

Thing thats scary about the Bears is that they may end up with 2 top 10 picks this year. They still have to get those picks right but still.

Reminds me of when the Wild have the best record in the NHL between Christmas and March 15th, only to stumble into the playoffs and get bounced immediately.

Then again, the Twins are the only male major sports team in Minnesota that's ever given me the joy of watching a championship, and at the magical age of 8 years old no less, when the possibilities were broad and the future bright, so I'll always view them better than the rest. I hope they exercise some playoff demons this year and make another 8 year old happy.

I like this Twins team, even though I miss Arraez. The young talent is interesting, though I'd be hard pressed to predict who is going to be a top player in the future. Lewis seems fragile, Miranda/Wallner/ Gordon are up and down, are Julien and Castro the real deal, etc.

I do like that they have loaded up on pitching, and somehow made things work w/o paying a ton of money to a guy like Scherzer.

If Lewis can stay healthy, he'll be a legitimate star in the future. Kirilloff has a lot of potential at the plate too, but he needs to work on hitting lefties better, which isn't that uncommon for younger players. Both of those guys are 2-4 spot hitters, IF they stay healthy (big caveat so far).

Julien has an eye at the plate that could arguably rival Arraez, but he's got potential to be a better defensive player, and have more pop as well. Those three should keep the Twins offense competitive for a few more years until guys like Brooks Lee and Walker Jenkins can join the team. Walker Jenkins is someone every Twins fan should be ecstatic about. He's got superstar potential.

Miranda, Gordon and Castro kinda seem more like journeymen guys, with Gordon and Castro specifically being like super utility players. They're not really going to be "that guy" on a team, but they can help with their versatility, and the rest of their tools are good enough to play.

Newcastle beat Man City today.

Is it for the CL? Im not seeing a match today for the EPL.

It was the Carabao Cup and you should have seen City’s lineup. Oscar Bobb, Sergio Gomez, Kalvin Phillips, Rico Lewis, Grealish and Gvardiol all started and Matheus Nunes coming off the bench, all of whom making a first start or appearance with real minutes in quite some time. Grealish first start all season. Newcastle went lighter as well but most everyone aside from Trippier made an appearance.

I wouldn’t look into this much, Newcastle winning at home vs a broken City team in a domestic cup isn’t what it seems.

No worries, it’s a lot.

Sometimes called the League Cup or EFL cup, it’s a season long knockout style competition (no group stage like UCL or WC) and it includes all 92 clubs in EPL, Championship, League 1 and League 2.

Thanks for the heads up. Another question but is it important to teams to win it or not really? Judging by what Man City put out there it isn’t but that’s just me guessing.

Is it an important cup? Also assuming not so much given what teams have put up there.

It’s important to know that there is another domestic English cup, the FA cup that consists of 729 (!!) clubs. All of England (and Wales) participate, even down to the level 9 clubs. It’s massive and the first 6 rounds don’t even feature a team that’s playing league football. Prem through League 2. The first six rounds are just pure qualifiers for the non-league teams.

Out of the 4 possible trophies (3 if not playing Champions League, Europa League, or Europa Conference League) the Carabao cup is the least important one, especially if you have a shot elsewhere. But really, it depends on where your club is at, both domestically and in Europe like in the UCL, EL, and ECL.

Winning silverware for any club is a big deal but the teams that have a shot at the Prem title, UCL, and even the FA Cup will focus on those over the Carabao cup always. Like last year, City won 3 trophies; Prem, UCL, and the FA cup. Only thing they didn’t win was the Carabao cup because winning the UCL came first, prem second and so on.

Short answer, it matters to some. But clubs with bigger competitions will look at it as secondary.

Since you’re a new EPL follower, who did you choose to support? (Hope it’s not Chelsea ;))

Excuse me? NUFC's back line was Targett(barely sees the field, normally), Dummett(hasn't seen the field since 2022, and is old) Lascelles (doesn't see the field, aging), and Livramento, a 21 yo who was starting in his first game ever for Newcastle. In the midfield they had 17 yo Miley starting his first game ever in the premier league, and 19yo Lewis Hall, playing forward, of all things, when he is really a defender... this was also his first start ever for Newcastle. The only players of consequence were Isak, and Joelinton. NUFC was playing the equivalent of Goligoski, Merrill, Addison, and Mermis in their back line.

NUFC's best scorer, Wilson, did not play, nor did Barnes, who was out injured, nor Longstaff, Burn, Trippier, Botman, Schaar.

Grealish has had numerous starts this year, also. The other Newcastle game, Arsenal, Sheffield, Sevilla...probably more. Gvardiol is a terrific player, with an established rep. Not sure how you can imply otherwise. Ake is rock solid defender, and started. Foden came on later in the game. During the game, the announcers were saying the that lineups were clearly unequal- in MCI's favor.

Sweet thanks for the insight. Like i said before it can be a little overwhelming with all the different leagues and cups and what not.

I havent fully decided yet but right now its between Liverpool and Newcastle with me leaning towards Newcastle.

Reasons for Newcastle are theyve been booty for awhile until like last year when i first started watching, new ownership, coastal town (lol i know), a lot of younger players it seems like, new manager in Eddie Howe who seems to be a good one as well and from what ive heard from other people is that he is a good one, I like castles and the name Newcastle drew me in (lol i know), i like their logo with the castle and lion on it, and they were just on tv a lot last year it seemed like. I dont have one player i REALLY like on the team but a handful who i find myself rooting for. Their home kits are ugly as hell and remind me of footlocker employees.

Reasons for Liverpool is i really like some of their players more so than NUFC like Mo Salah, Van Dijk, Gakpo ( i really enjoyed watching Van Dijk and Gakpo during the WC), Their logo is clean as hell with the mythical bird Camorant, their color scheme is really clean as well, Coastal town as well (lol i know) I havent been able to watch them nearly as much as ive been able to watch Newcastle it seems like over the last year or so maybe thats why im leaning towards the former.

My favorite player in all of soccer is definitely Mbappe with Saka a close 2nd. Mbappe was such a treat to be able to watch during the WC and that final was easily one of the best sporting events ive ever been able to watch on tv. And him turning down that billion dollars because he didnt want to play in Saudi Arabia made me a fan of him even more. Marcus Rashford is a lot of fun to watch as well.

And not i dont root for Chelsea they seem like a dumpster fire right now with all the money theyve been spending and not seeing results seems like a desperate team and ownership. Although Enzo is pretty fun to watch not going to lie hes got some beautiful balls (context and phrasing here) or however the "proper" way to say it.

What about you? Assuming Newcastle?

nah, pretty sure that @Jesus comma Brodin follows one of those effete southern clubs, or maybe a team from another league altogether. I'm the Newcastle guy. Been following them for years, when they were REALLY shit. Basically used to give the other team the ball at the beginning of the game, turtle, and hope for a draw. They are an easy follow, now, because they are good, well run, likeable(unless you are a Sunderland fan), have a crazy fan base, tough, have an iconic uniform, and lots of good young talent that bodes well for the future.

They aren't the team Man City is, but they are probably the best team in the world right now when all their players are healthy. Halaand is best striker, De Bruyne the best midfielder, and his replacement, Rodri, is almost as good.

Liverpool is also really, really, good, and have been the only team to rival MCI in recent years. I do think that the bloom is somewhat off the rose there, though. There have been very strong rumours that Salah will leave after this season to play in the Saudi league, Van Dijk is showing mild signs of age, and overall, the team seems to be getting fed up, and breaking down under Klopp's pressing style. I used to like Klopp, but when under pressure, he's started acting like an ass at times.... not Mourinho level ass, but still, dampens the appeal, for me.

Most newcomers to the EPL pick one of the two Manchester teams, one of the top London teams( Arsenal, Chelsea, Tottenham), or Liverpool to follow. Those picking Crystal Palace, Burnley, Southampton, or the like only do so because of some personal connection to the team, or out of a desire to not run with the pack. In years past it was risky, as those teams often get relegated, which would mean it was near impossible to watch them on TV, but now most Championship games are streamed.

I follow NUFC because I couldn't see following the crowd(back then EVERYONE followed Man U), loved the B & W stripes, relate to the blue collar ethos, and some of my family comes from Northumberland, in the the far NE of England above Newcastle. I used to say that I was doomed to follow them. What's happening now is like a dream...
