I'm pretty sure nobody said Favre was washed after a 13-3 season where he threw for over 4000 yards and 28 touchdowns. He was an MVP candidate his last year in Green Bay.They said the same about Favre
Will help the struggling run game, likely heavily backloaded. Pretty sure the cap hit will be only around $3m or so and this is more of a 2yr deal than a real 3yr deal.Seems weird but ok
Thank Slick Rick for that messAll I'll say is... what a f***ing mess our cap situation is. JFC.
Not really. They are fixing it but after trying to go for it for a few years their cap space was going to be a mess. They are letting players walk like Kendricks and replacing them with youth. All I'll say is... what a f***ing mess our cap situation is. JFC.
It will be but they may shift some of it this year to next.Havent done the research myself but i heard our cap situation next year looks real nice, between 100-120 million.
It also probably doesnt look that good when you factor in JJs extension too.It will be but they may shift some of it this year to next.
The Minnesota Vikings restructured the contract of quarterback Kirk Cousins on Tuesday afternoon to save cap space. According to The Star Tribune’s Ben Goessling, the Vikings have saved $16 million on the salary cap for 2023.
Cousins had a base salary of $10 million and a roster bonus that was due this week at $20 million. With two void years to play with, the Vikings push out $16 million into those two years and reduce his cap hit from $36.25 million to $20.25 million. The dead money that the Vikings are looking at in 2023 sits at $28.25 million.
Why did they do this? It’s one of two ways. They needed the cap space and were in a very comfortable place adding to next year’s salary cap.
This could also have been done to help facilitate a trade. Lowering Cousins’ cap hit for a new team down to just $6 million makes his situation extremely lucrative.
Meanwhile, the Vikings agreed to terms with incumbent center Garrett Bradbury on a three-year contract, a source told ESPN, confirming a report by NFL Network.
The Vikings also announced the re-signing of quarterback Nick Mullens, whom the Vikings acquired last summer from the Las Vegas Raiders to serve as Cousins' backup. Mullens appeared in four games, completing 21 of 25 passes for 224 yards, one touchdown and one interception.
Keep in mind, Garret Wilson is already there and he's a fantastic weapon, the other guys are just depth.I love that he's been complaining that he has no weapons in GB, but then he requests the Jets to sign the exact same WRs he had in Green Bay along with Mercedes f***ing Lewis.
