Good teams hit on their mid round draft picks. Thats why the Rams have been able to do what theyve been doing and saying "eff them picks" because theyre one of the best in the NFL at hitting in later rounds. Why the Seahawks were able to go out and trade for a Percy Harvin, Marshawn Lynch, Cliff Avril, Michael Bennett and so on because their core of Russ, Kam Chancellor, Richard Sherman, Bobby Wagner, KJ Wright, Doug Baldwin who was a UDFA, were all mid round picks on dirt cheap contracts.

Look at the Seahawks this year their most recent draft is an absolute homerun, Ken Walker who was a 2nd round pick, Abraham Lucas their starting RT who was a 3rd round pick, Tariq Woolen whos in the conversation for DROY and is or was leading the league in INTs was a 5th round pick. The Seahawks solved their OL issue in 1 draft by drafting 2 stud tackles this year and drafting and hitting on a 3rd round guard in Damien lewis last year.

I think teams can overvalue 1st round picks but mid round picks are an essential part to the filling out your roster and practice squad and if you hit on multiple mid to late round picks, youre cooking with gas.

I don't understand this at all. If we do better the pick gets worse?
Compared it to the MAF trade last year. If the Wild would of made it to the conference finals the pick would of became a 1st, instead of a 2nd. ( i think thats what the trade was could be remembering the details wrong)

We get a 5th round pick if we win a playoff game, if we dont we get a 4th from Detroit.

Thanks.
Apparently just woke up and brain isn't working yet. I thought we were receiving the conditional pick
Facepalm for me.

Highway robbery. They keep escaping against bad teams. They faced one good team and got steamrolled.
To be fair, the accidental contact by the Ref really gave them (Washington) a lot of steam, instead of being a (potential) pick

Yeah, but the Vikes had been going 3 and out for ages by that point. Against that team? They should've been up big by that point, making that play an afterthought.

7-1, second best record in the league (only losing to the team with the best record), and all fans can talk about is how the team actually isn't very good.

And they're right.

I am quite happy to blame Kirk, and others, but is anyone else beginning to wonder about this coach in terms of playcalling? Seems pretty unimaginative, on both sides of the ball.

I do like the O line better than i have for a long while.

We've seen real 7-1 versions of this team multiple times over the years. This team is an illusion by comparison unfortunately.

I like seeing the wins, but I'm not expecting a post season run unless they really change between now and then.

I’ve never been impressed with Ed Donatell.

Washington’s defensive line is top 3 in the league, and you could tell. Ingram was atrocious and we couldn’t do much of anything aside from the typical scripted first drive success. Jonathan Allen was a menace, but again, they find a way to win in the most unconvincing fashion.
