I think the new ownership is sabotaging the franchise so they will get so bad attendance will plummet, and they move the wolves to Seattle. The trade is that bad. It's the Herschel Walker trade all over.

List of Minnesota Timberwolves draft picks in the past 10 years:

2012 - none traded
2013 - Trey Burke (traded for Shabazz Muhammad and Gorgui Dieng)
2014 - Zach LaVine (traded)
2015 - Karl Anthony Towns (first overall pick)
2016 - Kris Dunn
2017 - Lauri Markkanen (traded for Justin Patton, complicated trade)
2018 - Josh Okogie
2019 - Jarrett Culver
2020 - Anthony Edwards (first overall)

Minnesota has traded some good picks, but Minnesota isn't thinking they are going to be in the running for first overall again for a while.

More so, if Minnesota doesn't get where they want to go, they can start selling guys off and recouping their pick.

Draft picks in basketball aren't as worth as much as in other sports. They get moved around a LOT.

In theory shouldn't NBA picks more than other pro sports be more important, since NBA rosters are the smallest?

Kind of but not really. Top 5 picks sure...maybe top ten but generally lower draft picks are backups at best or out of the league. There is a huge imbalance of star vs role player in basketball

The talent gap between the top of the first round and the middle of the first round in the NBA is like the talent gap from the top of the NHL 1st round to the middle of the 2nd round. The end of the NBA 1st round might as well be NHL 3rd of 4th round picks.

The player usage is also much different: like McDavid only plays 22 out of 60 mins (37%) a NHL game, where as a prime LaBron played played 39+ of 48 mins (80%) of the NBA game.

Anyone see the track story about Devon Allen DQ? I had no idea there was such a rule as starting too fast after the gun was fired.

Whats even crazier is how they decided that 0.1s is a good limit was by testing reaction times of 8 Finnish sprinters (no offense but are there any Finnish sprinters in the top 100?).

The 0.1s limit was later proven to be inaccurate by the athletics governing body's own research.

On top of all that the reaction times at this specific World Championship are faster than any of the previous 12 years indicate there is something off/different with the reaction timing system this year. (unless you want to believe the whole field of athletes knocked 0.02s off their reaction times)

As if the preseason isn't worthless enough, now the first team offense may not even get a single series on Sunday.

Vikings Reportedly Exploring Trade for a Center

Looks like they want more competition at center than the under-performing Bradbury and a out of position Reed.

Normally don’t see much first team the first game anyway

East Metro, soon to be Up North.
Rocco Baldelli needs to go. The fact he won’t let his starters go through the lineup a third time is killing the bullpen.

All his decisions are made by his effing statistical horseshit. Sometimes you have to roll the dice and leave a starter in.

I would love to here Tom Kelly’s opinion of Rocco, off the record.

So great to have a great SS and watch him play every night.

Too bad he will probably leave because of a incompetent manager.

Baldelli is just implementing the front office’s directive. If not him, then someone else.

No, Sean Mannion era over thankfully. Mond has looked better and has time to grow still.

Sounds like they are only keeping 2 QBs on the active roster. So if Mond is around, he won't be dressing on game days.

He was drafted by the previous regime, the new one has no loyalty to him. By all accounts he has looked terrible in practice. The only bright spot was a couple of series against the Raiders. I wouldn't be surprised if he were released before the regular season.
