BTW, where are all of those Noel supporters who kicked me in the junk each time I stated the obvious - that he needed to be fired in year one?? Seems like some of you are losing your faith - you better stick to it and double down with him and Chevy - I need more laughter after watching another terrible Jets game

Stay classy bro. :yo:

Most people have been saying this season is Noel's make or break year. Its not looking great right now but he may still right te ship...

I realize we are 2-2 and we have a ton of talented young players etc.....but I consistently get the feeling we are being being outcoached more than out worked. Today we got killed by the Wilds trapping yet we had this one man forecheck, with the D falling back. They were just walking freely into our zone while we couldnt get past center! You've got to make adjustments during a game and it looks like Noel just isn't grasping it.

Whats even worse is that I don't think he commands respect from the team.

Jets don't make the playoffs this season, Noël is gone. 3 seasons is enough IMHO. Look at the Ave's turn around right now with their new coach.

That's pretty much a given. The more pressing question is how far do they have to drop into the abyss before Chevy pulls the trigger.

It's not like this team has been static, the talent on the roster has steadily improved since the arrival from Atlanta. Yet in so many ways this looks like fundamentally the same team.

I'm not doubting that Claude and the Jets can turn it around, but my faith is dwindling with each and every crappy performance like this.

The team looked really disjointed on 5 on 5. Im really starting to question our system play as either Noel doesn't cmumicate it properly or our players arnt listening. We look completely lost at times. I think he needs to let the players play with creativity the game plan is too predictable and too straight forward. Its chip it up the boards or dump and chase. This team needs to utize its speed through the NZ.

The vets also need to step up.

Fair enough Tuna. Chevy has the same mindset. Keep the talent we have and the team will grow together and thrive. Problem is - they have been together for several years in ATL and WPG. The results seem pretty obvious. I won't blame it all on the players though, this is a coaching and GM problem first. Once these two go, we'll have a chance. We need a veteran coach and a veteran GM (and not in that order).

Bogo started the season as the second best jets d man, he's now 4 th

Bogo needs to be better for sure, but Noel and Huddy have to stop jerking him around. They play him RD, then LD, then RD, and for the past couple of games with Clitsome until Clitsome gets the hook. I think he played with four different D partners tonight. Noel needs to settle down his pairings.

The Jets killed all of the penalties tonight, but looked lousy doing it. They were lucky that the Wild didn't pop a couple of PP goals. Can someone please explain to me how one of the best PKers from last season on the 'Hawks can't crack the Jets' PK?

Wheeler and Ladd have been awful for most of the season so far.

I know what the stats say about FO wins and shots, but boy you could see how never winning a face-off influences the flow of the game. The Jets were chasing the puck constantly. Little 1/20 on the FO? Seriously?

Trouba was rock solid, and really the only Jet skater that looked like he knew what he was doing out there.

Pavs had another strong game. Too bad Clitsome took his stick away on the winning goal.

Pav haters must all be in hiding

Soooooo, just because we don't all blindly say he's the greatest, we're haters? OK, gotcha.

Pavelec has been very good in his first 4 starts. Awesome. It's a start.

Anyways... that was painful to watch. I was over at a friends place who talks and talks and talks and talks and talks and talks and as he was prattling on about god knows what I was getting more and more pissed off watching this team.

For the first time I am starting to wonder if a coaching change might not be in order. We might not have the most talented group but we do have some very good players. We have made lots of personnel changes and yet we still have problems getting up for games. I expected WAY more out of Wheeler and Byfuglien especially, seeing as they are natives.

Faceoffs were disgusting. Outside of Pavelec, Halischuk and Setoguchi, I was extremely disappointed with this team's effort.

Looks like this is the peak for Dustin Byfuglien in the NHL. A guy who puts up his points, shows up to parts of a third of the games and cashes his cheques. He can take the next train out of town afaic.

Mostly, I am disappointed that this group fooled me into believing once again that they had learned something about battling, accountability, and what it takes to win in the NHL.

If Noel starts Pavs tomorrow I am going to **** bricks

Can't help but notice you didn't post in any of the PGT's when we won games. Where were you then?

I'm going to say it right now, I would love to have Laviolette behind the Jets bench. Don't really care about that Lavy "shelf life" trope tbh. This core needs to start getting results ASAP.

I agree, I would not mind at all seeing someone new behind the bench, especially if it was Laviolette.

That being said, I'm curious to see how Noel responds to these 2 games. Maybe it's wishful thinking, but I'm expecting a better effort tomorrow.

peter laviolette is phenomenal and has passion and drive. he fights for his players and he DEMANDS results. i will always be thankful for what he did in philly. its really a shame that holmgren still has a job and reputation, meanwhile the winnipeg jets media gets to disrespect lavy in this way. maybe they just dont get it.

I'd like to give props to the Wild's anthem singer who paused when "True North" came up, allowing the Jets fans in attendance to be heard!

With you all the way.

First of all lets be honest here, Pavelec gave the Jets a chance to win but he didn't steal anything or stand on his head. Minnesota couldn't bury open looks and we blocked over 20 shots. He gave us a chance to win, great, but lets not pretend he's something he isn't.

I made this point on TSN radio but this club is on the precipice of becoming the Flames. This core has been together for 5 years or so, and it's not working. It always went the same way here in Calgary... everyone would say:
1- it's too early
2- oh its the mid point dont make changes now
3- oh we barely missed the playoffs keep the course

I have a real fear that this club wont have the courage to deal away the pieces of this core and start with another because of recent contracts given. The chemistry isn't there, and it's really easy to fall into a trap that "well the individual parts are good something else is wrong".

If our core is Kane, Ladd, Wheeler, Little, Bogo, Buff, Pavelec.. we need to be prepared to lose at least half of them to shake things up. The Flames finally did what was necessary and the effort that team puts in makes me sick to my stomach when I watch a Jets game by comparison.

few notes.

effort wasn't there. we're middle of the pack talent wise as is - we need to outwork our opponents - we didnt

our powerplay is a mess. passing is not crisp, players not moving to open positions... a lot like last year.. passing hasnt been good even strength either tho tbh

Stuart is a #7 at best now as far as im concerned. he tries, but he is too slow to be effective now. he's never been good with the puck, and now his lack of agility has taken away his ability to be physical on the rush and in the corners.. we really need to try someone else here or make a move to bring someone in. we get hemmed in whenever he's on the ice as guys beat him to every loose puck

pavs is having a great year.

D zone coverage is weak. need more hustle but i also am starting to believe that what theyre being coached simply isnt working

i still think we need another high end top 6 forward and a strong defensive #4/#5 lhd before we will be a playoff team

Same crap we saw in year one. They're incapable of moving the puck in all three zones of play. Do any of the advanced stats guys track pass completion %? The Jets have to be near the bottom in that category.

Three years in and talent is still an issue. None of the forwards possess much creativity on their own and there are no true playmakers bringing them together. Overall it's one of the least organized NHL teams I've ever watched.

I don't see it, but as a shake up, what do you guys think for tomorrow??

Ladd- Little- Seto
Kane- Scheif- Wheeler
Halischuk- Jokinen- Frolik
Tangradi- Slater- Wright

Doubt it, but it could be what we need.

I don't really buy the talent/"flawed core" argument.

This team has a legitimate first line. It has the making of a decent second line (potentially very good second line if Scheifele can ascend). It has three talented (albeit flawed, in their own way) blueliners, and a fourth in Trouba who should be joining their ranks in no time.

Depth is a problem, but honestly, the margins between teams with great 3rd/4th lines and teams with poor 3rd/4th lines is pretty thin. Goaltending typically isn't good, but as we've seen through four games, solid goaltending isn't getting us very far.

It's beginning to point to one thing.
