What is Celebrini doing statistically this year that Bedard didn't do last year?

He's doing a much better job at getting to scoring areas and creating chances, while playing a much better two way game. His bigger, faster, stronger, and plays a more competitive style.
He projects as a legit play driving center who can match up all over the ice. Bedard looks more like an elite offensive winger who will be stuck on the perimeter.
He's not slow, but I wouldn't call him fast, and the data supports that.

Bedard right now is a toxic scorer. He scores point at a decent rate, but it's a result of a very high-risk play style that grants the opponents more chances than the Hawks.
He also doesn't help his team in any other way at all, an extremely one-dimensional player so far. He doesn't have linemates of comparable skill, but he's also not close to his own teammates in effort.
I'm not sure several seasons of junior-style play in the NHL on a losing team with zero accountability advances Bedard's play much.

As usual, you love to provide context for every player being compared to Bedard, but not Bedard himself.

Read your post. Along with your ones regarding Hughes. You will bend over backwards to provide context (2 way play, "getting to scoring areas", "driving possession" "competitive style") to any player you are comparing to Bedard across every thread you pop your head into, without ever acknowledge the context that makes Bedard's production even more impressive than it looks on the surface.

Not many could skate like Kariya and still do things with the puck. My short list starts with Bure and McDavid. Kariya could absolutely fly.
As for Boudreau's comment? It's him doing his job as a commenter to elicit a reaction. Is there a grain of truth to it? Yeah, maybe, but you know that Bedard already knows it and Chicago is likely already talking to him about it. Hockey has a way of eating its young at times. Remember when Don Cherry was criticizing Sidney Crosby for scoring a lacrosse style goal in junior? Called him a "hot dog" for using his skill to help his team. ?Imagine. I wouldn't worry about Bedard if I were Hawks. Soon enough, teams will be game-planning to stop him.

That's not context, those are attributes of their respective games. Context would be things like "he's playing 4th line minutes".
Perhaps you should re-read my posts, you probably missed where I talk about how Bedard has little to no support which causes him to try to do too much. In this thread no less.

He doesn’t suck but on the right wing with a slightly diminished role as complimentary player to a true superstar he’ll be great.
Even you would agree with this.
He’s doing good on the PP so far accumulating those assists but thats not scalable the way he’s doing it. Biz was 100% right on that TNT show.

Yeah, I did see his game as rather one-dimensional even as a junior, but I still expected him to be able to play to his strengths better. He impressed me his first few matches, but somehow, it feels like he hasn't really improved as expected, and taken a next step.
In fact, it's starting to feel like he was rushed into NHL too early. Celebrini feels like he's much readier to play an NHL game, even if he's perhaps not got as much high-end skill.

There were a number of similarities as junior players. High volume shooters with tremendous hands that were equally good scoring and setting teammates up. Kariya was much more explosive in terms of skating but Bedard has the better snap shot release.
We will have to see if Bedard can fully translate as Karyia did. But as mentioned Karyia was a little older when he entered the league.
I'd be very happy if he equaled Karyia as a player.
