I think the Oilers are going to trade for a RHD at some point. A great player like Noah Dobson from NYI would certainly fit the bill.
The question is do they have enough futures to entice Lou Lamoriello to make a deal?
Dobson can be available actually. He just doesn't make sense for EDM with Bouchard in the fold and their lack of assets.No. Dobson isn’t available. You can have Mayfield for a 2nd or 3rd round pick.
You can have Pulock for a 1st + Sam O’rielly

You mean you don’t want another GM who gets pushed by ownership to sell off all young assets for garbage so they can bankrupt the team to build a mall?Trading Dobson would be a Mike Milbury trade. I have to hope LL is not quite that stupid (though he moved Devon Toews for next to nothing). It you want Pelech or Pullock then we can chat. Dobson is not the problem on the NYI.
Cant really chat about Pelech or Pulock, they both have full NTCs.Trading Dobson would be a Mike Milbury trade. I have to hope LL is not quite that stupid (though he moved Devon Toews for next to nothing). It you want Pelech or Pullock then we can chat. Dobson is not the problem on the NYI.
I think NYI fans are hoping he bounces back in the right direction, and if he can do that while getting less money because of this performance, I'd say that's a win in the long run for them. I think he priced himself out of that bigger deal.Isn't Dobson kind of a shit defender who's due the same sort of raise that Bouchard is about to get?
I don't think the Oilers are targeting a defenseman that's going to blow the doors off. They just don't have the long-term cap flexibility to do that. They need a guy that can contribute alternating back and forth between a 4/5 role. A good puck retriever with decent first pass.
How about Romanov?Cant really chat about Pelech or Pulock, they both have full NTCs.
You misspelled Pelech. Romanov isn’t going anywhere. How about Romanov?
Probably not. Pelech’s NTC turns modified this offseason so if there was a reset he’d probably be first one on the plate. How about Romanov?
In Dobson’s case the defense is so bad that it will cost him millions every year. 8M tops, I could see an extension as low as 6.5 though.Isn't Dobson kind of a shit defender who's due the same sort of raise that Bouchard is about to get?

Isles fans accept, Lou declinesHow about Pulock for Kane, 2025 2nd, 2026 1st and Phil Kemp?
Anyone on the Isles can go right now. Romanov is good not great, and I’m scared his next contract will be too highHow about Romanov?
Mayfield is actually who i would target if I was the Oilers, the salary is easy to absorb. In Dobson’s case the defense is so bad that it will cost him millions every year. 8M tops, I could see an extension as low as 6.5 though.
Back and forth between a 4 and 5 sounds like Mayfield but I’d prefer to keep him
No we don’t. We don’t need NHL equivalent of the New York Jets players on the roster.Isles fans accept, Lou declines
