After basically costing the Jets the game last night do you think Gramps Hendricks is a better option than either Mathias or Dano? Don't think anyone does besides Maurice!

5 on 5 no I don't and I don't think Maurice does either. But he has used Hendricks on PK all year and IMO that is why he was chosen over them.

My own opinion is different than Maurice but I understand why he does what he does.

A somewhat rhetorical question: if we lost the 1st game and won the 2nd and got the split, how would we feel about that today?

I'm happy with the bigger picture result in Nashville, where the goal was to break serve. Now they need to get down to business at home where they control the matchups, and drive a stake into Nashville before the series heads back to their home turf.

To add to your point is there anyone on here today that is scared of having to win another game in Nashville if we have to? This is a classic series and both teams are going to take turns imposing their will on each other. We can obsess about the times they make some of our good players look bad and we can also look at the times our team does the same to their players "OR" we can settle in and realize that is what happens when two ass whooping teams go toe to toe.

Gramps Hendricks bailing on the play as the Preds were coming fast and hard on the game winning goal was all I need to see of Gramps Hendricks ever again in a Jets uniform!

Do you really not understand what my point is about Tanev?

If you have a subscription to The Athletic I suggest you read Murats article about Hendricks.

He's been fine-good all season 5vs5

You've been waiting all year to blame PoMo. Not surprised you're picking this hill to die on.

You are the one dying trying to defend Hendricks and Maurice for using him.

Do you truly believe he is the best option at this point in time?

Going through my morning re-watch and I'm actually laughing at how everyone focuses on the one play at the end. There were so many moments earlier in the game that would have altered the end result. The Laine goalpost if it was half an inch different probably results in Rinne getting pulled.

There were plenty of other events along the way for both teams.

Enstrom, Hendrick, Laine were bad, but I was most disappointed in Lowry. He was totally not himself. He engaged maybe half as many battles as usual and he lost those. I can only assume he was sick or hurting 'cuz I've never seen him play like that. That being said, the vast majority of the team looked pretty good last night, but were completely gassed by OT.

Lowry didn't seem like his usual physical self for sure.

On the GWG last night. 100% Roslovic's mistake. Toby pinches down the wall, but sees Roslovic covering up for him so he falls into a forward back check. The second Roslovic turns his skates to stop on the puck in the neutral zone (with 3 predators skating hard towards him) Toby gets on his horse trying to get back into the D position.

The read was right for Toby.

The read was way off for Roslovic, not sure why he thought he could stop on the puck and try to prevent that attack, Turris has position on him and was about 3 feet closer to the puck than him.

Rookie mistake?

Exhausted?

Who knows. But he did make the mistake.

100% Roslo's fault? The last Jets player to have full control of the puck was Hendricks and he gave the puck away as usual. Then to make it worse he takes off to the bench would he could of made the 2 on 1 Nashville goal 2 on 2 instead he watched it happen.

I don't know what it will take for Maurice to bench Hendricks, he just makes one mistake after another and he is a huge reason we lost and will be a big liability if we keep playing him. If Armia and Perreault are out for another week then they need to play Dano or Matthias. Im sure there are Moose forwards that could step in and do a better job than what he has done.

Enstrom is clearly not playoff game ready after missing so many injuries and time off. He was anothe big reason the Jets lost. If you watch the details he is not playing optimal at all. Morrow should be playing instead, he was getting stronger every game IMO. They say Enstrom allows Buff to roam around offensively. Buff did just fine with Morrow offensively (5 points in 5 games) and Morrow wasn't making the mistakes Enstrom does. Morrow can also contribute offensively, whereas Enstrom never does.

Why did Maurice change up the 3rd and 4th lines so much from last series? Why stray away from what was winning for us? Copp Little and Roslovic was a solid 3rd line. Lowry was playing solid on the 4th line. The only players doing anything now from the bottom 6 are Tanev and Little.

I know the series is far from over and the Jets still have a solid chance to win. It's just frustrating to watch these lineup calls when I know we have the talent if used properly to take down Nashville and I feel like we aren't showing up with optimal lineup to give us the best chance.

Probably no less than a half dozen grade A scoring chances not capitalized on.

Laine in alone
Wheeler in alone
Buff in alone (goal called back)
Ehlers missing the rebound right in front after the Laine shot off the F/O
Lowry missing the pass right in front with Rinne way out of position
Ehlers coming in off the wing and lifting it over the net
Connor on the rebound in the 3rd that he buried into Rinne's pads

Jets had countless chances to alter that game. They go up 3-1, Rinne is likely out as you say and Nashville opens up a lot more to counter.

Seems like people are struggling on the board after a loss as usual IN A GREAT GAME. We got the split and yes it’s dissapointing we didn’t win in OT but the angst is comical.

Series on.
It's the extra sting of missing a golden opportunity.

Subban deserves an Oscar nomination for his performance at the end of the video. Very mild cross-check from Stastny. Subban only drops like a sack of dirt when he sees the linesman is right there. Looks like he will need an ambulance, but makes a miraculous recovery during the intermission.
Subban is pure trash IMO. I have no idea how a clown like this gets nominated for a Norris.

connor is starting to have that deer in the headlights look again. if they dress the same lineup they should think of moving ehlers back to the top line and little to the 2nd and copp to 3rd and connor back to 4th line. he is getting eaten up on the wall in the defensive zone and not helping much on offense. even little to the top line and copp to the 3rd is an option until at least perreault comes back.

This.

If the game had never even gone to OT I would be fine with a split. ( Still mad at Hendricks for being a dumb ass, but fine with the split ) That's all I wanted going into Nashville.

BUT... We got the game to OT and we had the chance to really put them down and out, and we missed that chance. Championship teams do not let the opponent get up when they can give them the final blow... they end it.

The Jets are young and most have never been in this position and pressure before and sometimes you learn by losing. The Jets were taught something last night.... will they learn from it?

And we were chasing from behind instead of being up 3-2 on Copps goal because of some 36 year old washed up player that Maurice things has value.

Wave a magic wand and heal Army and Perreault

Jets just ran out of "fuel" at the end, which is expected in the second away game in a series.

A day's rest and a home game and the Jets take off with this series.

Apparently Buff's mom fed him Hardee's and mashed potatoes. This is a pretty cool story.

Predators fan details incredible encounter he had with Dustin Byfuglien's parents during Game 2

Playoff hockey is intense for fans, too, and over the course of a series, there are a lot of things fans say to players on the other team to heckle them or try and get under their skin.
You obviously have to be in the arena to do this and Predators fans definitely have no fear when it comes to chirps and chants directed at opposing players (especially goaltenders).
Sunday night, for example, this Predators fan by the name of Ben McGreevy tried to get under Dustin Byfuglien's skin all night long with some playful chirps. What Ben didn't know was that Byfuglien's parents were sitting right behind him.
