Can't wait to hear the take on these stunners from Bill, Dano, Sal and Rachel tonight. What the hell, toss in Amanda while we're at it. Need all the positive spin we can get.

I mean, if you're going to buy at this deadline after the way the season has gone the last week, this is the kind of move that I'm more or less just fine with.

Is it an overpay? Probably when you consider what he'll make and his actual production. But if he's going to actually play center, I get the inflation.

I'm not thrilled about these moves either, but you're managing a room full of guys who expect to make a run.

Because you can't do nothing, getting a bottom pair D and a fourth line C is doing as close to nothing as possible.

Baffles the shit outta me. Still 15 mins left.

I watched Glass a couple times when he was in the WHL. One time specifically flew up to visit friends and to take in a Portland/Spokane game to see Ty Smith. I would have felt safe in betting money on Glass being a #2C in the NHL.

I also remember Paul Castron specifically name dropping Glass after we won the 2017 lottery. We moved from #5 to #1 as a result. Reading between the lines, it was almost like Castron was a little disappointed since he spent a lot of time scouting Glass thinking we'd be picking around #5.

Posted this in the TDL thread, but that ES offensive zone at the 93rd percentile is enticing considering how inept the bottom 6 has been at sustaining pressure.

We couldn't move nemec (and some dressings) for a solid hockey forward?

Wild. Team is trying to stay motivated for a mini push to stay playoff cut clear of the dead zone... And Fitz does nothing to bring back a higher quality forward.

Kick in the balls of a deadline.

Just (yet another) defensive defenseman for a second and an upgrade to Justin Dowling.

I don’t think he really believes we need scoring. Should have just done nothing.

I can’t wait for his YUGE press conference at 4:00. Maybe he’ll talk about how goal differential is all heat really matters a la Lou.

I think I need a new avatar. Now

Glass scored 14 goals in 72 games two seasons ago with Nashville. There is offensive potential with this kid and his draft pedigree. He’s a fine addition to the fourth line and who knows, maybe he develops into a third line player. What is the likelihood a third round pick becomes an NHL player anyway? We complain about Haula and Lazar; Glass has to be an upgrade as you can’t possibly suck more than Haula. He’s literally one of the worst players in the league. It’s not sexy or a splash move but it’s a fine little piece of business.

I kinda like this, if they manage to get a reasonable contract extension on him. 4th line center that can maybe play up here and there. Better than Lazar, who should be a 13th forward and Dowling, who's a 3rd line AHLer.

There is no hope in the pipeline of filling in a center so this was necessary.

This was a good risk to take in a lousy market. His shooting percentage is unsustainably low. With a bit of market correction he's probably a good fourth line center. As others have noted if he pushes Lazar or Dowling out of the lineup that's at least some improvement. This season was toast once Jack was hurt. Maybe they sneak into the playoffs which will be a nice outcome for the guys but if they take a first round series to six games I'd be surprised. Fitz realized at some point you have to draft RD but he is asleep at the wheel drafting wingers only at forward.

I will say this….with no significant deals made, Fitzgerald wasted a 2nd round pick and a solid prospect in the deal for Dumoulin. We aren’t going anywhere this season. Might as well just let Hatakka play and get the other kids some more pro experience. You can’t be half pregnant and that’s what the move was.

I’m pleased we didn’t do anything crazy stupid and that Fitzgerald showed restraint. However, wasting a 2nd round pick that could have been used in a trade at the draft (yes, I get we have two other 2nd round picks) does not sit well with me.

It's easy for us to complain about a second round pick but the guys on the team don't care about it and neither do the season ticket holders for the most part. If Doumolin allows them to run an actual NHL defense the way they want and it gives the locker room a boost it's a necessary evil. Jake Walman went for a first, an NHL defender for a second and a B prospect was the least anyone got raked over the coals this TDL.

You've seen Hamilton right?

Shooting % = div/0 ERROR

Any time you can rotate the radar graph and it looks like a bird, it's not good news. Bubbles = good, right angles bad.

Just for the funny; here's Lazar...

the league has gotten faster every year according to the edge data. Glass has actually improved a lot from subpar to average in terms of skating top speed in a faster league. If he can push someone down or out of the lineup that's about all we can ask for right now.
