Don’t care about some arbitrary point total you think he needs to hit in order to be worth his contract. He needs to score lots of goals, control play when he’s on the ice, and stir shit up with physical play.

If he’s 65-75 point guy with elite underlying numbers and plays with an edge, that is what we’re paying for. Not many players in the league like him, and someone the Devils really needed.

He was a monster in the Rangers series. Shesterkin literally had the second highest expected goals saved in the postseason, only behind Bob and he ONLY PLAYED ONE SERIES. He was our best forward that series and then continued playing great hockey against Carolina where he finally didn’t get stymied by a goalie playing out of his mind.

The analytics and eye test showed that Timo was one of the most impactful Devil forwards in both rounds.

He also played the pest role perfectly which is something the Devils have needed for a long time.

Hughes, Meier, Hischier and Bratt at like 36-37% of the cap (my quick math in my head), that is why we are ecstatic. This is how you build contenders. Great value contracts amongst your star players. Then when the Luke and Nemec’s of the world need their deals we will have Palat and Dougie coming off the books, or those vets will be already shipped off. Add all of this with the cap increasing by a good amount and the Devils are set up perfectly for the foreseeable future

It's the same fanbases that can't fathom the Devils being good, all it is. Even if Timo is a slight overpayment, it's a market correction on what they have Nico and Jack for.

Why would Rangers fans live rent free in Devils fans's head?

You think Devils fans care about the Rangers? How many cups does the Devils have since the Ranger's last? The Rangers are the most irrelevant original 6 franchise hockeywise, they have 4 cups in 100 years lmao no one is jealous of their success
