Fans from around the League have been saying, for years, that the Oil forwards are over-rated and over-valued.

Looks like we were right.

I don't think anyone here is saying Larsson isn't good. It's just Hall is worth much more atm. If Larsson turns into a stud #1 sure that's great. But Hall is already a stud sniper and you traded him for a top pairing Dman but not a #1 (yet). Oilers can probably recover the offense with Hall gone, but you coulda got more value

Adam Larsson has potential to be a weak #1, right now he's a decent #2 guy.

There is nothing top pairing about Adam Larsson.

He has horrible possession, and when the possession is there, he has poor useful possession. He has 0 offense in his game, and the one bright spot, shot suppression, is about on par with upper end 2nd pairing guys.

This is a horrific deal by the Oilers.

As a neutral fan, Edmonton needed to make change. Legit change. Moving out one of the "old boys" in Hall is a win. I trade a winger for a TOP 2 d man every day of the week.

Larsson is being vastly underrated here tho. He's a good Defensive D man, something the oilers needed badly.

I wouldn't call this is a fleecing at all, it's a fair hockey trade that helps both teams get better overall...

It's almost like Oiler fans over value all their guys and then when reality hit and one gets traded, they just can't seem to accept the fact that perhaps just maybe they overvalued their player.

How does anyone not like this tho? Oilers needed a legit top 2 RHD.. they got him.

Oh boy. You knew the Oilers had to make a move for defense and they did.

Of course many argued that Hall would never be moved but, well apparently never say never.

I hear a lot about Larsson's untapped offensive upside, but over the past four years he has 5 even-strength goals in 3500 minutes.

See. Oilers' fans are rioting.

But guess what? Devils' fans aren't happy either.

So, it was probably a fair trade.

The Devils fans that are mad are just the ones hanging onto the hope that their #4 ovr pick from years ago would live up to that draft position.

Once Hall gets on the ice for them they'll soon forget. This is a coup for NJ.

I don't understand why people say "they could've gotten a better defenseman for Hall". Don't you think if they could've got someone better they would've done it?

So Chiarelli has effectively traded away Barzal and Hall for Griffin Reinhart and Larsson, if those two don't wind up eating big minutes in the next few years and looking damn good doing it, Chiarelli is going to be public enemy #1 in Edmonton.

Wow. Just wow.

What is with that old Bruins management team? I think Chia and Benning are tied on the ******-scale.

Oilers get robbed here. I was expecting Larsson + + and was furiously flicking through to see what they added and started laughing when I saw it was nothing
