Santini alone would cost you Larkin. And considering where we are on D I don't think we even do that.

We're not the ones in a cap crunch. There's no basis for a move like that.

In what world is Detroit in cap crunch? Detroit doesn't have to make any moves to be compliant by the time the season starts and we will still be close to a million under just with our LTIR with Franzen, Vitale and Pulkkinen.

Lol right Santini drafted 42nd overall in the 2013 draft. Best year 19 points with Boston College would cost us Larkin yeah in what world. He's no Ekblad or OEL or Justin Faulk over rate Santini much.

I'm rating him comensurately with what he means to the Devils. He's going to be a shut down D-man with limited offense, but we're not in a position to trade him after dealing Larsson. He's yoo important. Larkin is what it would take to get us to even think about it.

You'll be 300,000 under. League minimum salary is what, 550,000?

You can't even claim someone off waivers with that little. Or call up Ouellette or whoever else might be deserving. And the situation just gets worse when Tatar and Larkin need to be reupped.

I understand if you don't think my deal is appealing, but you guys aren't in a good spot. Your roster isn't good enough to compete, and you have no room to improve.

Other GMs know it. The Bruins and Blackhawks can tell you where this goes.

Boychuk got 2 2nds and a 3rd. Teravainen and Bickell got a 2nd and a 3rd.

You don't think this is in keeping with that level of return?

Those players (Boychuk/Bickell) had to be moved for cap reasons, there was no other choice. Detroit doesn't have to do anything. Again it's not the 1st time a team will go into the season with less than 500k in cap. It's manageable, it's been done before and will be done many times in the future.

The two of us can't consummate a trade. We're not GMs. This is all about discussion. Throw crappy proposals back if you want.

You guys are taking this too seriously.

Maybe I'm coming off as too intense. I'm just passionate and trying to make my line of thought as clear as possible.

Can't tell if trolling or literally knows nothing about hockey but declining Larkin for Santini is one of the two. Would be like a Wings fan declining Frk for Hall.

This is a bit of an exaggetation, don't you think? Santini is our best defensive prospect. A lot of people, myself included, think he can play in the NHL this year. Can you say the same from Frk? And after the Hall trade defense is our weakest point. Good D are extremely hard to come by. I would think a Wings fan would get that.

And Larkin and Hall are not on the same level. I need to see a lot more from him to be convinced of that.

How do you figure that we'll be $300,000 under the cap. We're over by $4,239.000 or something like that and with Franzen and Vitale on LTIR we're saving around $5,055,000 so we will be around $800,000 under stop going by General Fanager that still has AA on the roster both AA and Mantha have been demoted down to Grand Rapids right now. But of course that $800,000 Detroit still needs a 7th D man and even with Ouellet added that only leaves us with about $88,000 but then again i could see Holland waiving Jurco's $900,000 and see someone picking him up if need be. Holland know's what he's doing being this far over once Franzen and Vitale go on LTIR and possibly Pulkkinen as well that will give Detroit a bigger savings cap wise going into the season.

Boucher (who broke stamkos's record in Sarnia) has yet to show anything of that promise. Was it NJ management of him? Possibly, but doubtful. But there still is a chance, now with more talent on the team possibly could score 20+ would save his career. He does have a deadly shot, but this year, is his last one IMO.

I think the Wings explore every option before moving a guy like Nyqvist on a gamble.

Teravainen got moved to get rid of Bickell's deal, and because they couldn't protect him in the upcoming expansion, plus he would need a raise after this season that the Hawks can't afford.

Boychuk got moved because he was gonna get paid big bucks the Bruins didn't want to hand out. They traded him for something rather than lose him for nothing.

Nyqvist is locked up for 3 more years at a very affordable rate for his production.

Your comparables don't really add up.

That's because Santini is most likely a one dimensional defensive defenseman, not a two way guy like them. He can move the puck and isn't a grenade handler, but he's not going to out up points most likely.

But I agree, he isn't worth a player like Larkin. Not even close.
