Pesce is signed long term. Dougie has a big contract and is very good. You could probably sign Kovacevic to a Siegenthaler deal. The devils also have 0 organizational center depth outside or 13 and 86 and Kasper would be an elite 3C of the future.

Don’t see a world where you can keep Nemec and Casey

I think the contract you're looking at for Kovacevic is Jake Middleton (4.35 AAV)

With Luke also up for his extension, which will no doubt be long term and big money, I don't think they are re-signing Kovacevic and keeping Dougie when you have Casey and Nemec coming up.

So if you're signing kovacevic, my gut says that Dougie goes away.

NJ receives: Marco Kasper, Detroit 1st (top 10 protected. Becomes a 2026 1st if Det picks top 10)

Det receives: Simon Nemec , highest pick of 2025 2nd rounders NJ possesses
With some of the flashes were seeing from Kasper at 20 years old already, getting better every game? Couple that with the young Dmen Detroit already has, and has in their system??

They’re not gonna make a trade like this.

They’ve been looking for that 2C for 2-3 years now. Kasper now has 6 points his last 9 games and he generates offense and chances every night. He’s only going to get better and better with more opportunities, like he’s starting to get.

Usually I’m always taking the big time D prospect over the forward. Even a C most of the time. Not in this situation though. Kasper looks like he might be the real deal. Lots of Eriksson Ek to his game too, on top of the quickness we’re seeing.

He’s still only 20. A whole lot of growth still coming his way. Growth that will all come at the NHL level now. He’s not going back down unless something strange occurs.

Yeah Nemec is a very solid young D but the Wings already have a #1 RD in Seider and have ASP coming up as our long term #2 RD. I could maybe see the Wings dealing ASP + picks to pickup a different RD that is a little more NHL ready but I can't see them dealing either of our top center prospects for a dman. If anything the Wings could benefit from a short term vet RD to maybe allow us to either separate Ed and Seider or create the semblance of a 2nd pair.

The Wings only have two legit center prospects in the system in Kasper and Danielson. With the way this rebuild is going timeline wise we are going to have to assume that Larkin will not be a #1 center by the time we are ready to compete. We can't afford to trade either of those guys because of that.

We need forwards, so why would we trade for another blueliner?

Would love Nemec but Kasper is too important to this team long term down the middle to be adding a first to him for an unestablished NHL player. He actually reminds me quite a bit of Larkin with some trade offs in attributes.

Detroit needs centers and they don’t need RHD, no need for us to do this trade, and kasper so far has been developing nicely at the Center Position. I think everyone here passes.
we don’t need RHD? What are you talking about? We need pretty much everything but middle and bottom six forwards. Our RHD organizational depth is terrible outside Seider and ASP

If we didn’t have ASP doing what he’s doing in the AHL I’d consider it

But since he is and is looking like a top prospect then it’s a no go

I don't think either team wants anything to do with this. Nemec will not be in the AHL for long.

Hamilton will almost certainly be moved in the next 18 months for cap reasons and you're 100% going to trade Casey before you trade Nemec.

Why? Casey is better than Nemec by a fair amount. The only thing Nemec has going for him is draft pedigree.
