Detroit needs centers and they don’t need RHD, no need for us to do this trade, and kasper so far has been developing nicely at the Center Position. I think everyone here passes.
Pesce is signed long term. Dougie has a big contract and is very good. You could probably sign Kovacevic to a Siegenthaler deal. The devils also have 0 organizational center depth outside or 13 and 86 and Kasper would be an elite 3C of the future.
Don’t see a world where you can keep Nemec and Casey
With some of the flashes were seeing from Kasper at 20 years old already, getting better every game? Couple that with the young Dmen Detroit already has, and has in their system??NJ receives: Marco Kasper, Detroit 1st (top 10 protected. Becomes a 2026 1st if Det picks top 10)
Det receives: Simon Nemec , highest pick of 2025 2nd rounders NJ possesses
Yeah Nemec is a very solid young D but the Wings already have a #1 RD in Seider and have ASP coming up as our long term #2 RD. I could maybe see the Wings dealing ASP + picks to pickup a different RD that is a little more NHL ready but I can't see them dealing either of our top center prospects for a dman. If anything the Wings could benefit from a short term vet RD to maybe allow us to either separate Ed and Seider or create the semblance of a 2nd pair. With some of the flashes were seeing from Kasper at 20 years old already, getting better every game? They’re not gonna make a trade like this.
They’ve been looking for that 2C for 2-3 years now. Kasper now has 6 points his last 9 games and he generates offense and chances every night. He’s only going to get better and better with more opportunities, like he’s starting to get.
Usually I’m always taking the big time D prospect over the forward. Even a C most of the time. Not in this situation though. Kasper looks like he might be the real deal. Lots of Eriksson Ek to his game too, on top of the quickness we’re seeing.
He’s still only 20. A whole lot of growth still coming his way. Growth that will all come at the NHL level now. He’s not going back down unless something strange occurs.
