I think Backlund could make a ton of sense if the Flame fall out of the playoff race, which I'm expecting now that we're down to 2 top-4 defensemen.

Evans league best shut down 3-4 centre with some flair to score Penalty KILLER. but you wont get them for free Hughes is getting a lot of calls right now. These are the type you need to close out games and make a huge run in the playoffs. Yes Savard would be a rental but Evens is a new 4 year contract at 4-4.5mil per in July worth every penny. for the league best shut down centre. The cap is going up twice so no problem on money.

Hate to give up Nemec for a third line center. We don’t need a top line player to play in our bottom six, just a decent center who’s good at faceoffs.

savard was an anchor for hutson at the start of the season. if the devils need another rhd in the nhl than hamilton, kovacevic and pesce, they have better alternatives in the ahl with nemec and casey.
evans would be a useful rental. i don't think they would prioritize him in the offseason tough. max offer a second.
