I love Josefson's game right now. His skating is absolutely incredible and his work in the d-zone is excellent. I do wish he could finish some more of his chances like he had tonight, but I can't complain with the game he had.

Side note: Ovechkin sucks. I mean, do you guys realize how craptastic this guy is right now? He's an absolute hole in the d-zone, he's cherry picking constantly and he looks lost without the puck. His decline is actually quite remarkable. Guys have studied film, they know his game inside and out and he hasn't adapted. His time in the capital will not end well.

I believe he is the one that needs to go from the Caps for them to improve. Send him somewhere get a good return that will change the locker room and culture with that team for the better.

Also i thought Tally played a good game tonight.

Casual fans I welcome with open arms, that's no problem.
Maybe it was just my section. But I was sitting near a group of people who were clearly living social fiends and just buy up every deal they find. They were giving dirty looks to people who trying to get cheers started. That stuff drives me nuts.

I always get stuck near those types at Yankees games. Never really expect it at a hockey game.

The upper level was rocking. Both sides of the 200's dueling Marty chants was epic.

I was pleased with the atmosphere after the first period. Place was empty until after Little Gio scored, but I kind of expected that because of the snow. Place took forever to actually appear to be the sellout crowd they said it would be on Wednesday.

It's good to know that it was just my section then. (no sarcasm).
This fan base gets more **** than it deserves. I was afraid of how it would come across on TV.
There was one guy and another girl in front of me that seemed like they were trying to get it going (Section 128).
We would join in, but the 2 people I brought would back off when they realized no one else was joining. Just an awkward feeling.

#5 Is it just me or does every game with a living social/groupon deal have a dud crowd? I was surrounded by too many people who were there just to be there.

Not just you. Teams do that to move tickets they otherwise can't and the people taking advantage of deals like that are beyond casual.

I don't know. Ovechkin needs a shakeup. Trading him would cause such a circus, I don't know if it's worth it. But something needs to be done.

This Caps team peaked at their Presidents Trophy and just expected the rest of the wins to come easy.
They have the talent, they have a coach who can now win back the locker room... but it doesn't seem like this combination of players will ever click as a team.

Random: Who else loves the intro? About time they go with a whole New Jersey theme when the team takes the ice rather than just using recycled highlights.

They need to make that **** permanent, as well as the playoff intro with the highlights from the old Cup runs intertwined with the Patton quote. I want to get chills when my team takes the ice every time I go.

Finally watched the game. Was expecting a shootout, very pleased that we came out on top. Not thrilled that we let them back in it, but we couldn't skate without taking the opponent out in the third. Overall, a decent game.

Take note that the New Jersey theme came back after a certain other tenant left the building

True, but even when they first started the Jersey's Team thing before the Nets squatted in Newark for two years, there wasn't a badass intro with New Jersey landmarks and a North Plainfield firefighter revealing a Devils jersey underneath his gear. ****'s just epic.

I'm just into the little things which have no effect on the on-ice product for some reason.

I'm amused by the little things...

I had an interview back in September with the person who made the intro. He had just came over from US Soccer maybe a year or two ago so he wasn't there to make these during the Jersey's Team years. Very cool guy and I'm sure he's got more up his sleeve. Really thought the soccer connection would have gotten me the job :(

Well if I recall last year was the second time they used the patton quotes with old highlights. I believe the previous playoff intro also did something like that. Last year's though was by far a better intro. That intro gave me chills every time I was in the building. The NIN, the bells, the clips. Kept getting better as the playoffs went on as they incorporated playoff highlights (I didn't get to see the Finals version, but it must of been glorious with the Rags clips added in)

My only worry about bringing Butler up is he has to stay up for good pretty much. He would have to clear waivers again if we wanted to send him back down for whatever reason and don't know if Lou would be able to sneak it a 2nd time. Really rather Lou brings someone in with a trade to replace Tedy if that needs to happen.

I think Josefson has earned himself a spot in the top 6 for Sunday's game. Centering Patty, on the wing with Trav, and Kovy like he was late in this game. He's gotta work on that shot a little. Get some goals, get some confidence, and go on a roll.

He sure as hell looked awesome. Rewatched the highlights, that 1st goal was pure sex. Great pass, and a great shot by Lil Gio. Neuvirth had him lined up and Gio just beat up, great finish. Honestly Lil Gio had an excellent night as well, he was extremely close to scoring once or twice more. JJ should of had at least one two with the chances he created for himself. Neuvirth was good though, he made some pretty crazy saves.

Re-Watching the highlights and I have to say I love watching Kovy just go beast mode when he scores like that. Love his celebrations.

Yikes it's gotten bad on the Caps forums. Some posters wondering if Ovi use to do P.E.D.'s and wonder if he stopped if that's why his game's gone to hell the last 3 yrs.

Honestly I feel it's a combination of Ovi getting lazy and other teams finding ways to neutralize him. Can't blame Caps fans for thinking otherwise though. I bet hockey players use P.E.D.s more than we realize.

I don't see how that helps you score goals though. Ovechkin just lost his desire somewhere along the way, it's sad. People used to give him **** for his celebrations, but at least he cared then.

Yeah... that's true. I'm more referring to the explosiveness in Ovi's skating during the years he was playing well, since something like that seems to be a product of physical strength and stamina. He doesn't seem to have that anymore. Though like you said, it's probably more due to loss of his drive. There's no explosiveness when you simply don't hustle.
Also, I don't see why people gave him **** for his celebrations, I thought they were awesome.

Gionta needs to stop firing slappers from the circle, I'm starting to get confused as to which brother is where.

All in all, it was a good win even though they gave away a point. The penalty fest in the 3rd annoyed me to no end, though.

Two negatives makes a positive, you know.

Which means two positive makes a... no, wait. Sorry, still makes a positive... :naughty:

Sorry for the bad joke. Habs Fan coming for Parley.

Great season start for you guys so far! I was wondering who started this season hot, and who hasn't? Have you been satisfied by your guys' overall performance?

How's Marty looking? ;)

Marty has been hands down our best player he's playing like the playoffs are still going on from last year.

The team so far has a tendency to start slow and Marty holds us in until they wake up.

The top 6 for the most part has been consistent at least 5 of them have. Elias,Kovalchuk,Zubrus,Zajac,Clarkson. Tedenby and Matteau have appeared in the top 6 at times as well as Josefson ( usually when the team is defending late in a game he gets put into the top 6 on Elias line )

Our depth is contributing the Carter-Gionta-Bernier line is steady just like the playoffs.

The defense is still solid but they have made their mistakes too just like most teams in this shortened season.

All in all though 3-0 with only 3 goals allowed. I'll take it.
