My desktop is terrible. And the new laptop that I'm typing on probably can't run any decent new games. I'll check but I'm really thinking the Switch is my best bet for Disco. edit: just checked. systemrequirementslabs says this laptop could do it but it does not meet the recommendations.

The $14 is real enticing.
If so, then go for it-- That was basically the situation I was in except I paid full price, and I don't regret it, despite the glaring warts (which, in hindsight, didn't turn out to be much better or worse than playing it on my crappy computer that can't handle it would have been).

I actually just finished it, and I'm wondering if it's actually my favorite game of all time now.

Bought it for my laptop. Haven't tried to run it yet.

If you have any sort of modern computer you should be fine. The minimum requirements are a Core 2 Duo (a 15 year old CPU) and integrated graphics.
I tried playing it on an XPS 15 (not sure if that's still considered modern) and it runs, but the performance was pretty shoddy.

Just hook it to my veins please.

Man I have to say I was so excited when this popped up in the Direct, and then that was immediately drained the second I realized it was a Warriors game.

I'm happy for everyone who enjoys that style but it ain't my jam.

It's okay. I still have Golden Deer to play through.

Musou games are incredibly mindless.

I'm more interested in expanding the lore and potential supports between characters that didn't have them in the previous game. From what I can tell in this trailer, both Caspar's father and Hilda's brother are here, and that is wild to me.

Oh agreed. I was hoping for some sort of DLC or expansion in the Fire Emblem format.

I had the same problem with Persona 5 Strikers. P5 is one of my all time favourites and I was excited for more, but just couldn't get into the format.

I can at least tolerate the mindless gameplay but this is clearly set in an alternate timeline so it's tough to say how much of it is "canon".

Musou games f***in rule. I like the mindless hack n slash of it and decking out your character. After work or whatever, I wanna relax and play something fun. Not read and have to like…think.

BOTW Warriors or whatever it was that came out 2 years ago wasn’t fun at all for me either. Just not my style I guess but it felt like endless combat and nothing else. Those games don’t have enough substance, personally

A recent leak of a seemingly official Nintendo GBA emulator is raising pretty obvious speculation that another library of games from that system may be getting added to NSO.

I can only hope that, if true, it's added to the expansion bundle that already exists and that Nintendo doesn't try another cash grab by creating yet another tier of payments for it. I'd be pretty happy playing Minish Cap on a much larger screen than my Game Boy Micro, for sure. That being said, a more centralized way to access games would be helpful, as this would be the fifth separate console tab taking up real estate. In an ideal world, Nintendo would have just one centralized window that you can access everything on, but that'd make too much sense and be too user-friendly, I'm sure.

What specs does your machine have? Looking at some videos online the game runs poorly on older integrated GPUs but I'm pretty sure the XPS 15 laptops all have dedicated GPUs.

They're playable if you're actually interested in the IP, and they're usually a lot better when theres a spin added to them. The first One Piece Pirate Warriors game for example was its own thing it wasn't pure Musou. I liked it a lot. I also played Pirate Warriors 3 and like it too but I prefer the 1st game.

That’s much sooner than expected.

I'm gonna have to get the 4k switch I can't play these games at 540p or whatever resolution they run at I need my 4k.

You can control a party of up to seven people?!? That's going to be a lot of voiceovers.

Anyways, I'm pumped, I like how Xenoblade does the whole multi-dimensional thing and looking forward to seeing how this all works out for this world.

I have never really tried a Splatoon game and don't know if it's really my thing.

What are people's overall thoughts on the game?

It's a very colourful take on the TPS genre, lots of fun but a high skill ceiling. Also unlike most shooters, taking out your enemy is actually secondary and not at all required. The goal of turf war is to cover the floor of the arena with as much of your team's ink colour as possible.
