I meant to say that all of them were.

I'd probably wait for a sale on this tbh. I loved and played just about every KH game besides RE Coded and even dabbled in that mobile P2W nightmare.

I rented KH3 and only played for a couple hours. For some reason I couldn't make myself want to play through another full KH game. Though I think what it is is that I've developed a distaste for how contrived and convulted the plot has become and it doesn't stand well enough on its own as an action JRPG to really hold my attention anymore.

So I would maybe like to revisit at some point but idk if I'm ready for it yet. Still cool that they ended up on Switch.

It's a bit lazy on Square's part. They absolutely could get 1 and 2 running on the Switch with little issue.

Oh without question.

Dream Drop Distance may have been relatively sparse in terms of total content but it looked and ran very well on a 3ds. There's no excuse for 1 and 2 not being hard ported to the Switch.

Metroid Dread coming out in a few days, getting good reviews, would be a day one buy for me if not for price. Maybe I'll snag it in a "buy two get one free" thing or maybe a sale after the new year.

Yeah same here. The only reason they’re charging $60 is because it’s “Metroid”. Otherwise, this looks like a $30 game.

I initially got that vibe from it too, but the reviews are making it sound like much more than that. Some are calling it one of the strongest releases on the Switch and an actual return to form/contending for the strongest entry of the franchise (I'm liking what I'm hearing about the specific things being praised, too), which would be very much worth $60. We'll see, I guess.

Yeah I’m considering getting it tomorrow now after reading some reviews lol. It’s that FOMO. I just don’t wanna drop the $60 bucks on it. Decisions, decisions.

Nintendo has never been in the market for graphics, not going to lie that Bayonetta looks rough around the edges, but the combat looks good I thought.
Very true but it's a real shame seeing all these great IPs locked behind this hardware.

I have to agree, Ori and the Will of the Wisps is the exact same type of game with about a similar amount of content and is half the price on the E-shop, you can also get it on sale for $10 on Steam or you can just play it on Game Pass. The game also reviewed slightly better according to Metacritic. Nintendo is the only company out there still charging full price for these 2D games and it's pretty ridiculous (New Super Mario Bros. U anyone? 9 year old 2D platformer going for full price) especially when you consider the absolute technical gulf between the switch and every other video game platform.

Three Houses looks like dogshit and is still a better game than some of the AAA tripe that's being spewed out on a yearly basis. Graphics are very far down the list of important stuff to me. Remember The Order 1776? Better looking game than anything Nintendo has ever made.

The two Ori games are upper crust in the genre with Hollow Knight, just straight masterpieces. And I got suckered by Nintendo and it's ridiculous prices when I got the Link's Awakening remake, good thing I bought the cart instead of digital that time.

Difference is you could get The Order 1776 for $5 three months later. Metroid Dread will be full price until the sun explodes.

After Amazon Canada telling me my Switch Oled (my first Switch) wasn’t going to ship until after Canadian thanksgiving, I was glad to see it will be arriving today.

Nintendo's high prices this gen drives me bonkers. I think I've seen BOTW as low as $35, but it's coming up on being nearly 5 years old, and it should've been a Nintendo selects $20 title years ago...but with the Switch, it seems like Nintendo has forgotten about any and all prices drops, games and hardware.

Older me who grew up on a NES hates Nintendo as an adult gamer. And I can't backup up my save data without jailbraking.

Sure, I get it, basically can print money, but between the high prices of 1st party titles, and the half-assed online, I'm considering the Switch as my last Nintendo purchase. And 20 years from now, people will still be paying to rent NES/SNES/Genesis ROMs, while waiting for Nintendo to finally add N64 to the latest Nintendo system, and say "thank you sir, may I have another!".

Ehh, I don't know, after just a few hours, I find this to be significantly stronger and higher quality than the Ori games (which I found a bit overrated and would not put up there with Hollow Knight), personally, but that's just me. And we're also back to the "paying for quantity/duration of content" thing that I will never agree with.

Comparing an indie game to a mainline game from a huge company is never going totally add up regardless, too.

Don't get me wrong, I do think that Nintendo would have stuck you with a gigantic price-tag even if it was low quality and awful, though. This just wouldn't be the game where I find it egregious.

I know that the expansion pass is slated to come out sometime in October, but it seems odd to be almost halfway through October and yet there’s no official release date and pricing yet.

I actually just bought Disco Elysium Final Cut on PS4. I was going to get it on Switch but it was $9 cheaper on PS4 during a sale. The game is incredible, I can't stop playing it. I was a little skeptical watching videos on youtube but watching other people play it really doesn't do it any justice. If you care about a good story or player choices in a video game it's a must buy. Imagine the Mass Effect dialogue trees multiplied by 100.

Nice I was very interested in this game but think I will wait for the switch version. I have very little switch games that I enjoy in handheld mode, yes I’m weird and picky, but this seems like one of them I would.

Disco Elysium is a masterpiece, IMO. The writing is so good, and consistently funny/interesting, too.

I just wondering how the performance is on the Switch. Does it dip frame rates a lot?

Maybe I'm reading this wrong, but it's out on Switch already.

Oh is it? Could be. I added it to my wishlist and forgot when it came out.

Edit: yup look like it came out on the 12th. Will probably get it after I finish Alan Wake.
