I'm still not sure why an Avs fan keeps posting on our board.
I’m not sure why I can’t like more than one team? Makar is obviously my favourite player, but I first and foremost appreciate good hockey players. It should be taken as a compliment when anyone wants to post on your forum in a way that contributes to the discussion.
From reading posts about Nils here I think people are underestimating his potential. I believe he can share number 1 powerplay duties with Fox. Or do better mainly due to his one timer. Kid looks legit. No way I would trade him without at least getting a good look at him in Ranger uniform for awhile. Already marinated him for a few years. Good on the team for being patient. As article says it would be a great time to get him in the lineup this year if at all possible.

We shouldn’t get our hopes up for seing Nils in NA this year.

NHL reg season ends 8 may. SHL POs run from 27 Mar to around 15 May. WCH is 21 May to 6 June.

Lundkvist can’t go to NA without being released by the SIHF. SIHFs as a rule don’t release anyone prior to end of WCH, ie June 6. Exceptions can be made (a) if a player won’t play in the WCHs by the coach’s decision and (b) for a brief loan if there is a longer period between the end of the National regular season the WCH.

also wastes a full year on the entry level no ?
Just suffer w a random 3rd pair for a bit
Be happy Miller looks like a player
Maybe trade for a D to protect in expansion

That can be the leverage Lundkvist uses. Offer to sign now, have the ELC kick in right away, collect his signing bonus twice in the span of a few weeks, be RFA in 2023.

Rangers can gamble on his SPC being a lower AAV that way

HF Ranger fans can some times be hostile to other fans coming in. Comes with the territory of being one of the more universally hated teams. They assume everyone is coming in to shit on the team.

And on that note I also agree with you. When the rangers eventually offload Trouba they will probably have to give away a pick to do so (and probably retain a bit of salary too).

And great to see that Lundkvist is getting recognition outside of our team board.

More likely Rangers need to add at least a 2nd to get rid of Troubs.
You are all insane and completely undervaluing Trouba. He is uniquely difficult to play against on our D. He is a good puck mover and plays better against better competition. We cannot replace him now and unless Schneider becomes a stud at the NHL level, we do not have a replacement for him in the pipeline. Sure, he has his gaffes, as do most d-men. He is playing with a rookie and they are handling their business. The Rangers are a much better defensive team this year and #8 deserves alot of the credit.

My main worry about Lundkvist is that he comes across as a very shy kid. I want him to come out of his shell a little bit and become more vocal.

Certainly better than losing his rights entirely, which would be a travesty.

You must be watching a different player. His puck skills are poor.

I don't think a lot of people here fully realize that 20 year old Nils has a complete game and is one of the best players in Europe. When I hear he's going to be traded because of the Rangers depth on RD---I just don't see it. This guy could be a stud. I think he can make the Rangers out of camp next year. I'd also rank him above Kravtsov.

Most of us haven't seen him play outside of the World Juniors. I hope he is as good as his press clippings. If he is, we will be set up for a long time.

Per Edge, he was on the table for PLD.

Now that ADA is gone, I don't see us parting with him as easily though, yeah.

His shot is what most intrigues me. We don't have nearly enough quality shooters on this team.

From the blueline, I would actually say that we have none. ADA was the only real threat from back there and it was only because he could get his wrist shots through so well.
His shot is very intriguing to me. I agree that DeAngelo was the best in a very long time. Too bad I still believe that he gets moved in a deal. But one never knows.

TDA was always going to be on the chopping block. Even without him, we still have 4 major RHDs in the system. Fox, Trouba, Lundkvist, and Schneider. It’s why trading up and drafting Schneider made so little sense. Maybe the plan is to use one of them as a piece for a 1C or a 1LHD or something, but even ignoring TDA there’s still a logjam at RD.
