And we should judge players based on their on-ice performance but the "stats-game" so to speak is just for fun (for me at least). The big problem with comparable stats, and this can't be said enough, is that in many cases the parameters are chosen to make things look better than they are. Stats are like highlight videos. You cherry-pick until you get a result that you can be happy with.
These type of stats should never be used to make a case or win an argument. It's just fun to talk about.
After we deal with our 3 goalie rotation, I'm looking forward to all of the hand-wringing over our 4 RHD situation.
I wouldn't be opposed to a 1-for-1 trade where DeAngelo is traded for a LHD with similar impact. I have no clue who that would be though
What do you mean "after we deal with our 3 goalie rotation"? People have been wringing hands over the "4 RHD situation" since the day we acquired Fox.After we deal with our 3 goalie rotation, I'm looking forward to all of the hand-wringing over our 4 RHD situation.
at this point, who could that be? Hedman? Krug? Werenski?
The players we would consider in return are not players the other teams would likely give, and the players other teams would likely give aren't player we would consider as equal to ADA. Thats why 1-1 deals are so rare. Its almost impossible to get equal value *and* for teams to agree to the values of both incoming and outcoming players. More often than not, these become multi-piece deals, just to overcome the force of friction.
Let's hope they pick up penalty killing quick!man, RD lineup of Fox, ADA, Lundkvist would have just been too good.
is he still 5'11" 174 lbs? Maybe if his trade value is high we should trade him, I am not excited about another small soft offensive Dman. That is usually not how you win in NHL.
Nils scored a goal today coming out of the penalty box. So, no problem thereLet's hope they pick up penalty killing quick!
No, he's 176 pounds now.is he still 5'11" 174 lbs? Maybe if his trade value is high we should trade him, I am not excited about another small soft offensive Dman. That is usually not how you win in NHL.
This guy, lol
Why?It's easier for a RH to go LH than the other way around.
Why do you say this? I'd think many more LH dmen have experience playing the right side than vice versa since there are far more LH dmen than RH dmenThe game has changed. You don't have to be a Hal Gill or Derian Hatcher anymore. My comparison is always DMen have become the equivalent of NFL secondary.
If you have four awesome RHD, one can always learn to play the left side. It's easier for a RH to go LH than the other way around.
Final Game 7 is on Sat May 2, if they go all the way.Q for the group...will Lundkvist's Swedish season end before the AHL playoffs? Might he be a candidate for PTO?

Let’s hope Shesterkin is able to keep Hartford in the AHL playoffs till then, at least. And I expect Luleå to go far this year. They've been battling Frölunda and Färjestäd for 2-3 years now for that top spot. They have the depth to go all the way
Is this in reference to TDA moving to the left? The game has changed. You don't have to be a Hal Gill or Derian Hatcher anymore. My comparison is always DMen have become the equivalent of NFL secondary.

He played left side most of the time during his time in the OHL with Sarnia. Perhaps it’s one of the reasons he’s been moved back to the right and paired with Fox at times, maybe to gauge if it’s a long term solution?
Sign me Up. Wonder if Toronto would want a major shakeup and go all out for Georgiev and Skjei... that’s when Nyalnder enters the conversation, lolExactly
