Player Discussion: Nikita Kucherov - Part 3

How old will Kucherov be when he fails to crack 100 points in a reasonably healthy season? My guess is 36.

Kind of where I’m leaning too. Last season he was the obvious reason we made the playoffs and why other players had the goal/point totals they had despite bad depth, defense and goaltending. That plus his historic 100 assists as a winger and league-leading 144 points and the insane gap between him and the next best Lightning player should’ve been more than enough reason to hand him the MVP award. The guy was involved in like half of all goals scored by the entire team.

This year I objectively vote Draisaitl but we still have 8 more games to go.

I agree and it pisses me off that he's continually subjected to the omnipresent bullsh*t.
 
I mean, whether he wins the Hart or not, a third Art Ross trophy puts him in rare company. He's moving up the list of all time greats, IMO. Gotta be top10 for wingers, does he not?

He is already in a category for two of the GOATS jagr and Gretzky.
 
Nah. I want Kuch winning hardware. Dude scored 100 assists and the f***ing peanut gallery said "Nah, we're good" I'm starting to wonder if he isn't chasing the 100 assist mark and it's why we saw some of the silly choices he made

I want 86 to be the other standout in the McDavid era

He already is. He's the only guy to take multiple art rosses from McDavid, and is shooting for his 3rd this year.

I get the argument that MacKinnon is the 2nd best player in the world, but Kucherov is pretty clearly the second best scorer. But back-to-back art rosses would be quite the statement.

That's kind of why I want it for him so much. Yes. The all time playmakers have 6th senses our feeble minds will never grasp. I'm not even gonna argue Kucherov is there. I don't need to when he has at least equalled those player's efficiency of the common sense play. That's how you get 80+ assists a year as much as we see Kucherov do. And I would like to see him win the hardware to back it up in people's memories. Kucherov is probably only the 3rd guy (the others being Crosby and Thornton) in about the last 20 years to really execute the common sense plays at that level of greatness. But Kucherov is more efficient

There *IS* a case for McDavid but he gets by a lot more on being a rich man's Bure. I'm not saying he can't beat you with his mind. Just more like the dude's hands, speed, reflexes and physical pedigree are what you'd get in a lab experiment and all he has to do is make any pass and it's "Oh no. Now what do I do?"

Kucherov murders you in slow motion on sheer wit alone

Blues should be able to give DueKinnon some mad trouble tomorrow, and with the lowly sabres being the next opponent. It realistically should be a 5-6pt night outing if Kuch fully takes advantage of it.

Call me crazy but by April 19,

45 goals, 105 assists, 150pts

If not lol, 42 goals, 88 assists, 130pts
