Since when does the "campaign" belong to McDavid
Well he pretty much took a firm handle of it once it became apparent that his pace was going past 100 on a large sample. Surely it's anyone's to hijack. But given that all the chatter around said achievement has been with McDavid up to only the last handful of games and the fact that he is just one away I think it's perfectly fair to call it "his campaign" even though you're the one to emphasize that, not me. You like to stir things up, huh? A stirrer-upper per excellence you are there, buddy? A gear grinder, eh?

It's Kucherov's historical assist campaign if he reaches it first. That's 26 assists in his last 15 games and still going this game, he just said nah I want 100 first.
Agreed, if he does it first (or is the only one of the two to do it) he certainly takes the full claim of the campaign. McDavid is 99% of the way there, close but not yet cigar. If he can't/doesn't make last 1% he doesn't unlock the achievement, obviously.

It's just shocking how good he is.

I also can't believe he's on the verge of 100 assists. There was a time when the scouting report on him was all about his ability to shoot. Projection: 30-30 guy, possibly 40-40.

...Now he's 30 years old and by all appearances still improving.

The first goal on the first NHL shift is still his highest achievement

Truly insane campaign by Kucherov and unbelievable that he’s probably reaching 100 assists first.

Time for me to finishing processing McDavid being out and just enjoy watching Kucherov win his 2nd Art Ross.
Kucherov cementing his legacy as the second best player of the Mcdavid era. The guy gets a lot of hate (Russian) but he’s insanely fun to watch and the only thing I can dislike about him is the fact he’s stolen a few trophies from mcdavid

Funny how that keeps happening with Russians.

Can't argue this as a Lightning fan and says a lot about both of them in this era. Easily #1 and #2 with MacKinnon a close third.

No attempts on the shoot out?
He can't get any:

- East coast bias points
- Empty net points
- Powerplay points
- "oh he can get primary assists just not as many as others" points

Yeah. No more.

I guess it all works out in the end when we’re reflecting on both careers and this time period. Kucherov is clearly a special player and has been for a long time.

I’m skeptical voters will hand it to someone other than MacKinnon, but let’s face it, Kucherov should get the Hart this season.

Daft reply.
What's daft is expecting him to be in it. He is not all that amazing at them. Going back to last season where he was 0 for 4, Cooper used Paul, Perry, Hagel, Colton, Killorn, and this year has used Hagel and Eyssimont.

Not sure what conclusion you are trying to draw about Cooper using or not using him.

As McDavid is out of the scoring race now, I think I can guess how this is going to shake down:

-- Rocket = Matthews (duh)
-- Art Ross = Kucherov
-- Hart = MacKinnon

That seems reasonable, in the sense that everyone (except McDavid) gets something good.

Not sure about the Lindsay award. I don't really care about it.

McDavid might get the Lindsay. I mean that is splitting the pie up.

Again, there's no right or wrong answers here. So, chill out on the "tear down" BS to build up "my guy". Even Matthews has a case for the Hart. Yeah, I said it. 70 goals is cray cray. There's nothing any of us can do to change the outcomes. So relax and enjoy one of the greatest offensive seasons in a long, long time. It's special. We have a front row seat. I sincerely doubt we see 3 guys over 130 points next year. Teams adapt and scheme.
