And to look at Colorado and Tampa dominating and winning with skill skil skill and conclude that toughness was the key is just bizarre. We literally added the toughest forward on the avalanche cup winning roster.

Apparently NAK is tougher than Landeskog and Kadri so he should be claimed immediately.

It's a perfomance based industry. Nick was paid for his performance on the Avs, and was later waived due to his lack thereof in Toronto.

If he gets claimed, so be it. If not, let it serve as a wakeup call to him that he needs to start bringing it next time in the lineup. He's been massively unimpressive thus far. I have no problem with this move

The extremes people go to, to find reasons to complain are hilarious. Sign a depth player, who hasn't worked out, and you put him on waivers either to lose the contract, or completely bury it in the minors for now, while you try and trade him. Try a guy on, it doesn't work, return him.... no biggie, no commitment, just fix the mistake and move on... Like perspective people.

Like I said in the other thread, I liked NAK a lot prior to coming to Toronto. I don’t think he was given a fair shot here. I bet he gets claimed and performs well on another team and this place goes nuts over letting another one go.

How about constructing a roster with actual depth

The OP clearly has an agenda here. Another fuss made about nothing.
Some can see incompetence some can’t ‘that’s the way it goes‘

Go complain about it in a thread worth complaining about. Don’t let your opinion spill into every move, trying to paint it as the worst thing to have ever happened.

Some call that, the boy who cried wolf

I admittedly had somewhat higher hopes than this. Not exactly an earth-shattering development though.

Let’s give him credit for overcoming his ego now. Let’s ignore the actual building a cup winning roster thing
part of winning a cup is trial and error. Hardly no GM in the history of the game has won off of their original vision. Part of what makes some GM's so successful is their ability to adapt. This is just another example of Kyle doing so. I can understand why people may not agree with his philosophy on how a team should be built, but I don't understand how people can look at his willingness to go back against his original vision as a bad thing. So many times we have seen GM's live and die by "their guys".

it takes a man to be big enough to admit his mistakes, smart enough to profit from them, and strong enough to correct them. This may be the preamble to something just like that.

And if you need another example:

Mistake: Signing Nick Ritchie
Problem: Money tied up to non-performing player left vacancies on the back end
Correction: Move Ritchie + pick for Lybushkin

Zero ego involved, just on the fly problem solving. Not many GM's are that willing to contradict themselves. And before anyone goes on to say "well he shouldn't need to correct himself if he didn't make the mistake in the first place", as if they weren't happy with the signing of a Stanley Cup player who plays with jam. Not even mentioning the countless signings he does well with.

Again, I have no problem with people having different viewpoints on Kyle vs. the one I have. I just feel like comments like yours are just lazy attempts to throw shade at a person you don't like. I just don't understand how waiving NAK can be viewed as a negative.

With actual depth. Incompetence.

Brings in an actual depth player, from an actual Stanley Cup winning team, who actually played in the Stanley Cup....... You know... good enough depth for his team to win the Cup....

Amazing isn't it? Colorado, an incompetent team, somehow won the cup with such a depth player.

It didn't work here... next... we have plenty of depth... some who haven't had a chance to tryout yet... it's a long season... relax son, and try to find some happiness in this world.

You guys crack me up.
