Last time I checked, Ovechkin’s center has primarily been Kuznetsov over the past few seasons.

Huh? Its Crosby + Malkin. They can play together but they play the same position and its Backstrom + Kuznetsov. The replacement would not be Kuznetsov. It would be the rookie McMichael. But you know that.

I'd trade Backstrom and Carlson in a heart beat to open up Cap space.

Caps fans need to let go of their emotional attachment with these two players. It will benefit the Caps future and Ovie.
