Not sure if he’s a great leader or not, but with this current lineup it was the best choice. I would maybe have seen Guhle get the title in a few years, but couldn’t wait that long.

Congrats to Suzuki.

It's good that he took a while to think it over. I had a feeling it was offered to him when they brought him on stage with everyone at the draft.

On a side note, ugly as f*** RBC logo on the jersey.

It's fine. No issue with that. I would have personnally go Edmundson for a period that will be tough for us though. Don't think Suzuki should have on his shoulders a period that he didn't choose to be in. While Edmundson at one point will leave the Habs and Suzuki could have came out shining bright.

But again, not a big deal. He is still a good candidate for the qualities he has.

I wasn't interested in a "stopgap" captain - a vet like Edmundson for example. No doubt he's a leader in the room, but his name would just stick out like a sore thumb on the list of former captains.

Great choice for a young guy coming up. He seems like he really gets it playing here. This team's turning the page and I'm really looking forward to the Suzuki era.
