Suzuki is 16th in points among centers, and there are 5 players above him with higher shooting percentages.

Even if you expect Suzuki's shooting percentage to go down, you can definitely expect his assist totals to go up because his elite goalscorer linemate Cole Caufield isn't going to continue shooting at 7.6%.
Reinhart hasn't played C in the NHL once and Barzals been on the wing for three years now. Neither are actual C's, though Id be willing to hear it for Barzal since he's played there before.

Hes 14th in C scoring, he brings elite defense and he has the worst support out of everyone /Crosby.

You definition of a 1C is wrong, not everyone elses.

He doesnt have 30%, he has 18%, by the way. His shooting % is comparable to Drai and AM and much lower than Point and Reinhart, and you know what? He hangs with those guys shooting wise. Thats why his shooting % is high, not because of dumb luck. Check the goals hes scored, hes just a lethal shooter.

Furthermore, his 5 on 5 shooting percentage isnt even high at 8.8%, his PDO and Secondary assists are also low. None of that indicates luck induced performance or career year.
He's just lucky this year, that 10 game sample last year when the entire team fell apart is way more telling.

Just wanted to point that out (not saying it's bad necessarily) but Suzuki has kept a 5 on 5 production that is similar to last year. It's the PP numbers that have gone up this year.

Barzal only moved to wing last year when they got Horvat

His 5v5 pts/60 regressed a bit actually (2.03 -> 1.79), but it's probably impacted by Caufield's much larger drop at 5v5.

Power play wise, the Habs pp is just not at the bottom of the league like it was the last two seasons this year.

One more assist and Suzuki will reach a career high, having hit 40 assists the previous two seasons. 82 points is still on the table right now, let alone if Caufield scored closer to his vaunted 46 in 82 pace from before the injury.

If Suzuki continues his ironman, Montreal will be welcoming it's first 90 point player in a long time next season.

Could be wrong, but I don't think Suzuki has missed a game in his NHL career. Pretty impressive when you consider the conditions he's had to face so far.

EDIT After 76 games, Year almost done, Suzuki is 23rd out of the 96 first line players in goals and 26th in points.

For centers not yet 25 years old, he is 1st in the entire league in both goals and points (though Jack Hughes missed time).

And Hughes is playing on the wing. ;)

I detect a touch of sarcasm here

That 75 point season was with Higgins and Ryder, along with Markov, Kovalev and Souray on the PP. Goals scored were still around 3gpg around the league.

Hmm I didn't realize he had a more productive season than 02/03. Still think 02/03 was more impressive though.
